This week we shared the exciting news of the upcoming $THX launch. Next we dove into the inner workings of THX Network and tokenomics (part I) and (part II), and finally we explored the settings of the upcoming launch.

Today we get into the details on how-to participate in the launch. You need to set up a wallet, get your $USDC tokens ready on the Polygon side-chain, exchange a few $USDC for 1 $MATIC for transaction fees and finally buy in the $THX auction itself. It all sounds harder than it is, we promise, so let’s go 🏃🏃‍♀️

For blockchain power users: if you’re familiar with Token Launches you can skip this tutorial and go directly to the THX Fair Launch Auction on Copper.

1) set up a wallet 👛

Crypto natives can skip this step, but if this is your first endeavor in the glorious but sometimes bewildering blockchain space, you’ll need to install and set up your wallet.

There are many wallet solutions and advanced users can use any wallet supported by the Polygon network. In this how-to we will be using the popular MetaMask solution, trusted by over 21 million users worldwide, that supports a number of blockchain networks, right in your browser.

Download and install MetaMask for your browser using https://metamask.io/download.html

Note that although this piece of software is called a ‘wallet’ this doesn’t actually hold your funds. Your funds are stored on the blockchain, your wallet holds the keys to this storage. Losing this so called ‘private key’ or the seed phrase used to generate it, might lead to loss of your funds. We strongly recommend to read:

And never, under any circumstances, give your private key or your seed phrase to anyone, including the THX Network community or core team members. We will never ask for your private key or seed phrase.

2a) get $USDC ready on Polygon 💳

To participate in the launch you need $USDC tokens. $USDC is a fully USD backed stablecoin where each token represents one US dollar. There are three general ways to get $USDC tokens on Polygon;

1.For beginners we recommend a direct onramp to Polygon. You can choose one of the services listed on the Polygon website, see the screenshot below. These onramp services allow you to use a bank transfer or creditcard purchase to deposit $USDC to your Polygon MetaMask address. Tip: creditcards are faster and have less administrative hassle to buy crypto directly.

Onramp services, links can be found at https://wallet.polygon.technology/on-ramp/

In the screenshot below, we used the Transak.com onramp because it allows both bank transfers and creditcard from within the EU. If you want to use a creditcard for purchase, you could look into MoonPay as an user friendly and faster alternative. Not that MoonPay charges a 4.5% fee on creditcard purchases and Transak 3.9%. In this example we want to participate in the token launch with the equivalent of 300 EUR. We buy 1 EUR more of $USDC because we’re going to swap it for $MATIC, see step 2b) on why and how to do that.

Example screenshot, using Transak.com

Make sure to choose $USDC on the Polygon network when selecting your currency. After clicking ‘Buy Now’ you can connect your MetaMask wallet which will fill out your Polygon address in the brower. Follow the steps required and share your details with Transak (for their KYC requirements).
Don’t wait until the last moment to get your funds ready, buying and receiving your funds can take some time, depending on how you’ll pay for them.

2. For intermediate level users; several centralized exchanges let you withdrawal right to your Polygon MetaMask address, these include Crypto.com, Binance (non-USA version), Kucoin and OKEx.

Make sure to read the details about the withdrawal procedure at your favorite exchange before executing it. Not every exchange supports withdrawal of $USDC right to Polygon. So you might need to withdrawal $MATIC and swap it on Polygon using QuickSwap.

3. Advanced crypto natives familiar with Ethereum and holding $USDC funds on mainnet are recommended to use the Polygon Bridge to move their funds to the Polygon side-chain. For a more elaborate guide follow Polygon’s Guide, FAQ or video’s.

Note that if you don’t have $MATIC yet, you will also need that. So purchase and transfer a tiny bit more $USDC than you plan to use in the Token Launch Auction, one (1) additional $USDC is enough for transaction fees. Read how to swap that $USDC for $MATIC in the next step 2b).

2b) get $MATIC ready on Polygon 💱

Next to $USDC you will need a small bit of $MATIC for transaction fees on the Polygon side-chain, to get it we will be swapping a tiny bit of USDC we bought or bridged in step 2a) to $MATIC using the ‘Swap for Gas Token’ page. (Beginners: Don’t forget to connect your MetaMask wallet for this work!)

Swap $USDC for $MATIC using https://wallet.polygon.technology/swap

In the example above we are getting 1 $MATIC and paying about 1.60 $USDC for it, this amount of $MATIC should be plenty to pay for the transaction fees to participate in the Token Launch Auction.

Press ‘Approve’, sign the transaction, wait a few seconds and then choose ‘Swap’. After signing the transaction, in a few seconds you are the proud new owner of $MATIC on the Polygon side-chain.

3) participate in the Token Launch Auction💱

Participate in the launch on https://polygon.copperlaunch.com/auctions/0xf2b7794b89ea4fd2abfe66dcb6529a27c03d429e
  1. Connect your wallet. Make sure both Copperlaunch.com and your MetaMask is switched to Polygon, by clicking the red bar at the top and ‘switch network’ if this appears.
This how the launch pages looks with MetaMask set to the wrong network, hit the ‘Switch Network’ button to proceed.

2. Enter the $USDC amount you wish to participate with, push ‘Approve for trading’ and sign the transaction.

3. In a few seconds, the button will change in ‘Buy THX’. Click it and sign the transaction.

Congratulations you are now a $THX holder. Welcome to the community 💛💛💛

Before the $THX token shows up in your MetaMask wallet you need to add the address, which is 0x2934b36ca9a4b31e633c5be670c8c8b28b6aa015.

Don’t forget to add the $THX token address on Polygon to your MetaMask -screengrab from ‘Auction Details’.

Sign-up for email updates — 1000 $THX airdrop 📥

As a token of appreciation for those who wish to stay in touch we’re giving a 1.000 $THX incentive for users who sign up to the email list. After leaving your email address on our website you’ll receive a link to a form in which you can submit the Ethereum/Polygon address that you’ll use to participate in the token launch.

Participants in the Copper launch for a minimum of 75 $USDC using the *same* Ethereum/Polygon address will receive the airdrop in Q1 2022.

Sign up for updates and on our website https://thx.network/token.

We value your privacy. We can’t match clicks with form submissions so there is no link between your email address and your blockchain address known to us.
