We’ve made it easier for registered businesses to use tix.africa to register guests and sell tickets for community events. One of our guiding principles at tix.africa is “simpler, faster ticketing” and so that’s why we’re so proud of this new way for businesses to sign up for accounts on tix.africa and list free or paid events in less than 10 minutes flat!

The tix.africa team has spent the last few weeks working on this to make it easier for businesses to get started in using tix.africa in the same fast way as individuals do.

How Does This Work?

It’s simple! When you want to sign up for a tix.africa account, you’ll be shown this screen for you to choose an account type.

Next, we’ll collect your name and email address OR business name and email address depending on which account type you’ve selected.

Finally, you’ll get a link to verify your email address before you can log in for the first time. Once you’ve confirmed your email and you’re logged in, you can create your first event, add some tickets, and go live!

Now, just before you publish your first event, you’d be asked to upgrade your account.

For organization accounts, you simply need to enter the following details:

  1. Your business’ RC/BN number
  2. Upload your business’ registration document with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC)
  3. Choose your settlement bank from the list of options
  4. Enter in your bank account number and name

Once you hit request verification, our elves run in the background to check that the information that you’ve submitted is accurate and you can start selling tickets immediately!

Ps. Check this post out for how to edit your confirmation email to share a link for your virtual event automatically.

What happens if my details aren’t verified?

You’ll get an error message telling you what the error was. For example, if your bank account number is incorrect or it doesn’t match the account name supplied.

How about if I just want to use tix.africa as an individual?

That’s totally okay too! Similar to organizations accounts, just before you publish your first event, you’ll be asked to upgrade your account. To do that, you simply need to enter:

  1. Your date of birth
  2. Your Bank Verification Number (BVN)*

Our system will send a text message to the phone number linked to your BVN. You’ll then enter in the code received.

After confirming your phone number, you can choose your settlement bank and enter your bank account details.

We will once again check in the background that your bank account number is correct and the name matches. If anything looks out of place and it’s not turning up the right details, we’ll display it on the screen. If not, celebrate and you’re good to go with publishing for your first event!

* tix.africa never stores your BVN nor do we have access to your bank balance or transaction history. We’re able to check your identity using Paystack’s BVN validation service which you can read about here.

To recap, here are the two main differences between personal and organization accounts on tix.africa

Personal
1. Get paid into an individual account
2. You upgrade your account using your Bank Verification Number (BVN)

Organization
1. Get paid into a business account
2. You upgrade your account by uploading the business’ registration document with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC)

Are you planning an event soon? Well, you’ve come to the right place.
