TOP Network Biweekly Report: October 20 — November 2
In the past two weeks, TOP Network keeps making breakthroughs in technical development, fundraising and community operations. TOP Network attended meetups hosted by Ontology, one of TOP’s strategic partners, in San Francisco and Seattle, meeting with local developers and blockchain enthusiasts. Our community members actively participate in the Testnet Bounty program. TOP keeps raising investment from top-notch venture capitals. An experienced designer joined the team. It has been three months since TOP Network came out of stealth mode. We appreciate all your help and support, and we will strive to make TOP the best!
I. Event Highlights | Ontology x TOP Network Meetups
TOP Network attended two meetups hosted by Ontology, one of TOP’s strategic partners, in San Francisco on Oct. 30 and Seattle on Nov. 1. TOP CEO Steve Wei and CFO Noah Wang spoke to over 100 attendees including developers, investors and blockchain enthusiasts.
Steve elaborated on the goal of the partnership between TOP and Ontology — to build an open platform and developer community that boosts the communication ecosystem on the blockchain technology. Depending on the infrastructural technology and services implemented by Ontology, TOP Network provides the developers with a suite of secure and low-cost communication services that enable them to easily build their own applications. The existing communication applications of TOP Network are bringing a large number of users to Ontology’s ecosystem. TOP Network attracted plenty of attention at the events. The specially-designed TOP metal coins were given away immediately.
II. Technical Development
- Reconstructed the PBFT consensus module that not only supports the transaction, but also any other decision-making consensus and the Plug-in extension.
- Reconstructed P2P network modules to support the virtualization, and multi-number and multi-layer structure of P2P network.
- Reconstructed P2P storage modules to support storage virtualization, and any DB and file system (including network NTFS file system).
- Optimized the decentralized node selection process and security.
- Optimized the security of RPC API.
III. TOP Community
The number of our official Telegram group members has been growing fast at a rate of more than 100 people a week and members are extremely active. TOP offered a special Halloween “treat” on Oct. 31 to our community members — the Bounty program with more than 1 million tokens given away. TOP Testnet Bounty program will end soon on Nov. 5 PST. IV. Partnership
Alumni Venture Group announced strategic investment in TOP Network. Alumni Venture Group, founded by alumni from top universities including Harvard, Yale, Stanford and MIT, is focusing on investment in alumni startup projects. It was named as the “most active” venture capital by TechCrunch, with more than $200 million invested in tech startups every year.
V. Team
John Zhu joined TOP team as a designer. John has years of experience in visual design and has participated various projects including the font design of Geely, the visualization project of The Dow Chemical Company, and brand upgrade of POVOS Electric. John will be responsible for visual design after joining TOP team.
