There are times where you will want to find a place to discuss cryptocurrency, but you are not able to do so with the current mainstream social media. Because of the vast variety of community demographics on these social media, it is hard for us to find a truly crypto-centric community to talk about cryptocurrency and blockchain topics.

TORUM is a space that is created exclusively for the cryptocurrency community, so you are free to engage in topics related to cryptocurrency with anyone on TORUM. It does not matter if you are a Bitcoin Maximalist or a person who has just joined the crypto space.

As long as you are a part of the cryptocurrency community, this is the platform that you can use to freely share your ideas about the crypto space.

Project Listing

One of the common problems faced by cryptocurrency projects is the lack of community exposure. That is why we have integrated specific functions like Company Profile and Favourite Coins to help cryptocurrency projects maximize their exposure on TORUM.

Any founders and co-founders of cryptocurrency companies can list their projects on TORUM by creating their own company profiles. We do not charge any fee for project listing at this stage.

Community Building

Whether you are a cryptocurrency enthusiast or a cryptocurrency project, TORUM is equipped with a bunch of community building features that allows you to create and build up your community in the shortest amount of time.

While you are free to share your personal opinion on your personal profile, Clan is the main feature for you to engage in deep conversation with your community. Company

Company Profile is a specific function designed for cryptocurrency companies’ founders and co-founders to list their projects on TORUM. Projects have the flexibility of engaging with the community using their company profile, maximizing their community interaction on TORUM.

You are not able to find this feature as comprehensive as the one offered by TORUM in other crypto social platforms (and most importantly, FREE).

Clan

Clan is a function designed for TORUM Landers to create your own niche community. Clan can be a cryptocurrency mining clan, project-based clan and cryptocurrency technical analysis clan, depending on you, the owner.

A clan community interacts mainly using thread, which is the combination of the post function of Reddit and the article writing function of Medium. You can use threads for a variety of purposes, such as:

Writing articles,
Organizing an AMA,
Creating your crypto bounty program
And any suitable purpose according to your creativity

Mission System

Mission System is a function that is created to distribute XTM to TORUM Landers for their contribution during TORUM’s early days. A total of 400,000,000 units of XTM (40% of max supply) is integrated into this function to reward early TORUM Landers.

There are four types of missions available:

Daily
Weekly
One-Time
Special

The reward of Mission System is designed on a first-come-first-serve basis, which means once the 400,000,00 XTM is finished, new Landers will not be able to participate in our Mission System.

Similar to Facebook and Twitter, TORUM has its own messaging function embedded in its platform.

Wallet

Wallet is the all-in-one place for you to review your current XTM balance as well as the gifts and mission rewards you receive.

In our public beta phase, this wallet will be connected to TORUM’s integrated cryptocurrency exchange — XTORUM.

How do you earn XTM?

1. Mission System

2. Supporting Feature

Supporting feature allows anyone to purchase gifts to reward good and quality content creators using TORUM’s ecosystem token — XTM. After receiving gifts from the community, content creators will receive the same amount of shards (as in the value of the gift) and 30% of the gifts’ reward.

3. Token Depository (Currently Under Development)

Token Depository is a function that allows you to stake your XTM tokens on TORUM for three months in exchange for 10% of the ecosystem’s quarterly XTM profit.

Centralized or Decentralized?

TORUM is a semi-decentralized platform, where the platform development is single-handedly managed by Team TORUM and the ecosystem token — XTM is issued on the decentralized platform — Ethereum.

Before we decentralize our platform, TORUM believes that obtaining network effort should be our utmost priority. The current limitations of blockchain technology also makes it impossible for TORUM to develop its functionalities and features.

Therefore, the platform is built using Web 2.0 technology to ensure the best user experience and that the every community building feature is able to be developed comprehensively as planned.

Data Privacy Concern

TORUM has no intention of selling or using the community’s personal data. This project is founded by a group of cryptocurrency lovers, therefore we understand the privacy concern faced by the community.

In our whitepaper, we have stated that programmatic advertising and any sort of advertisement that uses the community’s data will not be allowed on the platform, even when the advertising slots function are integrated in the future.

Exchange Listing

During this private beta phase, XTM will not be listed in any exchanges. In this phase, we wanted the community to explore and experiment the functionalities with us.

We will only initiate our listing process in our public beta phase, when we organize our IEO on XTORUM. We expect the finalized listing event to happen 3 months after our IEO is finalized.
