Torum’s Community AMA Recap — March 28th 2022
On the 28th of March 2022, 12PM UTC, Torum hosted a Community AMA on Discord, led by Nicholas Teoh (Mythrust), Torum’s Community Manager.
The AMA started off with me introducing the two new programs/events that were recently launched by Torum:

After the brief explanation, I moved on to questions from our Landers who were present. Here’s a rough recap of the questions and answers:
Q: What is the requirement for Torum Exclusive Lander Program? Does it need to be available full time?
Mythrust: No, you do not have to do this like a full time or part time job! Most of you here are active Landers so just do what you are doing right now and use Torum daily. You just have to be more proactive in reporting the bugs.
Q: Will it be possible one day , that there will be a promotion of NFTs for the most active Landers as an incentive ( NFT that can not be transferred or sold ) to help promote of Torum’s NFT ?
Mythrust: I like the idea personally, I think it would be a great way to reward active community members. However, we are focusing the fundamental stuff like the backend migration and releasing the mobile app for now. Once the platform is smooth and bug free, we can move on to other matters.
Q: In the near future, will it be possible to buy NFTs with the Torum wallet?
Mythrust: I do not think so but maybe in the distant future. The current Torum wallet in the platform is not a wallet that is on-chain. Our NFT Marketplace uses Metamask to interact with it.
Q: Is it possible for the burned ISNO to be re-open for sale?
Mythrust: Nope, I do not think so, once they are burnt it is final.
Q: Why have the question on How much time will you contribute to the program every day?
Mythrust: This is just for us to make sure that you are willing to commit to the program. Like I have mentioned earlier, most of you here would just have to use Torum like you have been doing so lately. Just put more emphasis on bug reporting!
Q: What will the backend improve for Torum web?
Mythrust: Okay I guess I can let you know why. I was informed that previously whenever they fix any bugs in the current structure, a new bug would appear almost immediately. It is like what you see in cartoons where they fixed a pipe and another pipe burst somewhere else. So yea, it was an endless grind and they want to do something about it which is why they opted for a backend migration. The new structure or code base should be more stable so any bug fixes should be more permanent!
Q: Did Jayson confirm yet that 3 rate make one mythical andc3 mythical makes one legendary NFT?
Mythrust: Hey yes! You have been asking about this. I do not have a clear answer for you yet sorry as I am not sure as well personally. I will remind Jayson again and we will let you guys know as soon as possible.
Q: What are your plans about the non-working sections on Torum? Like the news section?
Mythrust: About this, several Landers have given us the suggestion on just taking it down for now. I think that would be a good idea as we do not want people to have outdated news. I think the news are stuck in November to December? Imagine if you read those news and think that we are still in a bull run. The team would have to decide on this. I will let them know for sure.
Q: Do you know if there have been any developments in the mission rewards? We might see an influx of new Landers soon if the market turns bullish again, and I am sure that’s the first thing they will look at?
Mythrust: Yes we are working on it, Torum is in the Growth stage and we understand that we have to spend on Customer Acquisition. We understand that the mission rewards should be higher as well and I personally think that there have been too many halvings as well. Unfortunately the price drop quite a lot too at the same time. I would like to add something about the gifts as well, our current gifts will remain as legacy gifts and we will introduce new gifts in the future that will reflect the current conditions better.
Q: What “code language” is Torum.com coded with?
Mythrust: Hehe, I am sorry I am not a technical person. I do not know.
Q: My last question is when will shards and dust from gifting, would be used for defi staking and boost staking etc?
Mythrust: This will be done in H2 of 2022. Not anytime soon!
Q: What are your plans about the wallet unlocking? It’s kind of hard or it will take time to unlock the wallet is there any lined up plan for that?
Mythrust: Yes, this is due to the multiple halvings of mission rewards that happened and we did not update the wallet unlocking requirements to reflect it yet. I believe that the current 500 XTM requires at least 80 weeks to unlock and I think that is too long too.
Q: If you guys are ready to pay more for customer acquisition but need more time to build new missions. Can’t you just up the reward of the referral missions for now? Because incentive is quite vital in a bull run, especially if metaverse hype is back. Anything small that can create incentive now might help in the next weeks/months.
Mythrust: Yeap that is a pretty good point, we could look into increasing the referral reward as it is something that will really contribute to the growth of the platform especially if we head into a new bull run. It rewards hardworking Landers that go out of their way to get new people too.
Q: Does these raffles cancel out what Jayson said before about airdropping other projects nfts to avatar nft holders?
Mythrust: Oh no, this is one of the event/competition that we are doing. There will be multiple type of events that will be done. It will not be fixed to one and we will look at what the community enjoys the most and adjust accordingly!
Q: Do you know the total number of avatar NFT holding wallets? Is it over 100? Over 200?
Mythrust: The amount of holders at the moment is 555 (as of March 28.03.2022). On March 10th, there were 533 holders so the number of holders increased by 22! This includes the Genesis and Squid Game Series!
Q: Will there be a new series of avatar nft dropping?
Mythrust: Not too soon I believe, it is not something that we are focused on.
Q: Last time from Ah Go’s live he said that the NFT will be given some utility, is it coming soon ?
Mythrust: For those of you who speak Chinese, our Founder Ah Go does a livestream every 2 to 3 weeks on a Sunday night. About the utility, I do not think it will be anytime soon and I would recommend you to not buy it due to the utility but you should buy it if you like the art!
Q: May I ask why you don’t do the NFT events this through Torum posts or a clan? How about just making a special user for this?
Mythrust: Yes quite a few people have been bringing this up recently. We are doing it on Discord cause it is more efficient for us to do so. Like for this event, without the Guild.xyz bot, it would be pretty hard for us to manually verify everyone. Also, we also understand that the clans are not working as intended and it is pretty bad for visibility. Once the features on Torum are ready, we will for sure move everything over!
Q: I was kind of curious about the usage of Whatsapp in registering your account? I don’t know what is the use for it?
Mythrust: What Nelthan told me was that, it is because Torum is not big or well known enough for the service provider to provide us with SMS OTP. We had to find a compromise, so we are using Whatapp for now. Once we are able to, we will switch it over to SMS OTP.
