In the last three months, the transaction volume on the TRON network has reached over 11 million per day, performing its robust capabilities and offering developers with stable and highly efficient service. However, it is found that there were a large number of low-value in the network. In addition, some accounts use daily free bandwidth to send large amounts of low-value transactions. It is necessary to prevent these low-value transactions from harming users and the entire TRON ecosystem.

On July 6th, 2023, the №87 committee proposal was passed. This proposal is about modifying the №61 TRON network parameter, reducing the daily free bandwidth of each account from 1500 to 600. It aims to decrease the volume of low-value transactions in the entire network. Now, the consequence has come into sight and we can see significant benefits brought by this proposal.

On one hand, the volume of transactions transferring TRX < 0.1 has decreased by over 77%, and on the other hand, the volume of low-value transactions has decreased by more than 71%, compared to the data of last week before the proposal was enabled.

Data Analysis

Comparing the on-chain average daily transactions data last week with the data of the week before the proposal took effect, the volume of transactions transferring TRX < 0.1 has decreased by 77.26% to 911,063.

Comparing the on-chain average daily transactions data last week with the data of the week before the proposal took effect, the volume of low-value smart contract triggers transactions has decreased by 71.43% to 1,046,253.

Summary

Reducing the daily free bandwidth of each account from 1500 to 600 significantly decreased the low-value transactions on the TRON network, making the ecosystem further secure and reliable.
