Since its proposal by the man Dan, last August, the EOS community has been asking “When Rex” as lots of hopes are tied to its implementation. Watch the — highly recommended — video by EOS Weekly or read one of my article how it might alleviate on-chain collusion.

Finally the REX code has become a system contract and it’s now possible to buy REX for staking ressources to REX and earning rewards for it. And as it is Labour Day in many countries, what better to do then starting to earning some passive income?
Remarkably there are a lot of options available already:

1) EOSAuthority.io

Looked like they would do just visualisation, but behind closed doors Roshan and his team have not only build up a slick REX frontend, but apparently also an EOS Toolkit, with many more wallet functionality. Buying Rex is super straight forward, and most importantly, doesn’t try to make you use their proxy. Great Experience!

2) EOSRex.io

Amazingly they have already set up a End user Frontend which is also very informative and simple to use!

The Interfaces looks pretty neat and straight forward, and it’s clear what to do, you login with scatter, and choose if you connect to mainnet (not operational) or testnet.
They also announced to use a special proxy, that was able to vote for more than 30 bps, this proxy is automatically used when you don’t meet the voting requirements and select “Set proxy” (so you can’t select inside the platform).
Possibly weak point is, no one seems to have heard about the folks behind it are rather unknown, they haven’t come forth with any features etc. other than this platform, so some caution is certainly advised: https://t.me/eosrexio

3) EOS Titan

This one was thrown out by EOS New York recently, if you havent read it do it now, as it provides a comprehensive overview on how rex works:

EOS Titan does great statistics for the EOS net, and their REX frontend runs quite fine as well. But the proxess is much mire straight forward on the options listed before. What is not okay, that you need to select skip, otherwise it will reset your Proxy to the Rex Core Proxy. I believe that’s a bit shady.

Other Rex frontends:

Toke pocket offers one frontend on their mobile platform: https://medium.com/@tokenpocket.gm/guide-of-the-eos-rex-c540e21e03c3

apparently also offers a User interface: Didn’t manage to check out: https://bloks.io/rex

REX Frontends in the making:

This seems to be the only Exchange currently providing a REX frontend. As of yet it only seems to be available on the Jungle Testnet. Sign in is with Scatter. The GUI provides a lot of information and is similar structured than an exchange view (Image Provided by EOSDAQ):

5) Chintai 2.0

Chintai is currently the big fish, they had the token leasing idea long before Dan, and already provide their own smartcontract based token leasing mechanism. The have been saying for a long time, that they would also provide a REX frontend with Chintai 2.0, that would allow users to choose or automatically rout their lending (or borrowing) via Chintai Leasing, REX, OTC as well as RAM. It’s certainly the most versatile and powerful platform, only thing it isn’t live yet, but should be soon now!

Potential drawback is that fees occur, which are payable in CHEX tokens, in addition, currently the CHEX ico is running requiring KYC, but apperently you can buy them from bancor as well!

Interestingly no other exchanges have set up or announced that this service will be included in their offering, nothing from Newdex, Dexeos, WhalEx, Chaince or Big.One. Other than EOSDAQ only AKdex seems to be preparing some form of offering to end sensibilities: https://bit.ly/2Vr83KW

Anyhow as much as we are excited, keep in mind, that REX (as well as possible platform) is very new, and some sort of experimental, so in the initial stages, you might consider putting only fractional amounts into REX, in case anything go wrong.

What i realised, is that scatter seems to have some hickups, when signing, but might be other reasons for that.

As you see, an independent proxy is more important then ever! If you are not sure who to vote for in EOS, proxy your votes to the Crypto Pilots Proxy or any other independent Proxy!

Have you bought Rex yet? What do you think? Did i leave out any platform?
