The Gentlemen (the 2024 TV series, not the 2019 film) introduces us to Eddie (Theo James), an aristocrat who learns that his family’s estate is being used by people running a drug empire.

This show is a ton of fun and is the typical Guy Ritchie style. Characters are larger-than-life and way over the top. We are taken into a really interesting facet of the criminal underbelly in the UK while also spending time in lavish palaces and parties. It’s quite the combination.

Honestly, it’s really fun to balance these two parts of society and see how characters operate in both contexts. And every single frame of this show is filled with Ritchie’s iconic style. The show is paced so well and each episode ends on a cliffhanger that makes you want to keep watching.

The Gentlemen doesn’t just rely on a great premise and gorgeous filmmaking but has an interesting story grounding it from start to finish. As Eddie navigates both the criminal enterprise and the aristocracy, he learns a great deal about his family and himself. There are twists and turns throughout as he and Susie Glass (Kaya Scodelario) have to respond to other people threatening the business and their income.
