SHOUT OUTS & THANK YOUS
Well, we just clocked ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARY-DOOS! (5-April). That is truly amazing and a testament to the need and desire to help.
Big thanks to everyone that has mucked-in, offered assistance, donated, supported logistics, operations, administration, promotions, and everything in-between to boost support for this cause and help it all come together…
It is overwhelming what you have ALL done and really appreciated by us, by the Ukrainian people we are helping, their families, and all in-between. Things happen so quickly we barely have time to take stock on the daily and show our thanks!
Logistics & operations
Firstly, we would not be where we are now if it wasn’t for Yulia (Dan’s amazing girlfriend) who has been the back bone and driving force behind his motivation. Secondly, to the fundraising campaign angels back in Melbourne (Rita and Claire) — who instigated the fundraiser and have been there from the start working tirelessly outside their full-time work hours! We have since recruited other dear friends and Dan’s sister, Ilana, to Team Oz Awesome to offer expertise advice and support as needed.
Further thanks to the champions, Laura DiBiase, Phil Forbes, and Jonathan Roy who joined us on our first few bus missions — and of course the bus drivers: Tomek & Wojtek.

Last, but not least, thanks to Anna K — a Ukrainian woman who is now paid a small stipend from the campaign as our Euro-coordinator extraordinaire. Anna helps to purchase equipment, locate resources, contact manufactures, and daily logistics for missions and relocating refugees as needed. Anna has made so much more possible with her ideas, can-do attitude, diverse skills, agility, and expertise.

Finally, a special shout out to Jennie Smith and the promotions team at Chuffed.org who supported us right from the early days.
Chuffed is the platform our fundraising campaign is hosted. Within days, the team at Chuffed.org recognised the awesome work being done by Dan, Yulia, and folks on the ground, and the fantastic attention the campaign was getting. Jennie reached out to support us with some promotional ads on Facebook and donated Chuffed’s time, resources and funds to help us reach a wider audience. They even donated the “Chuffed tips” they’d received from our donors — rolling them back into advertising cost, paying for more than $500 worth of ads on our behalf…
Chuffed.org continue to support us with promoting the fundraising campaign. A small percentage of our donations are now being used for advertising and the return on these far exceeds the cost. This is saving us much work/effort so we can focus on bigger and better things!
