December was a month marked by exciting announcements and partnerships, as well as an opportunity to look into what we’ll be focusing on as we head into the new year!
New to Ultra
This seventh edition of Ultra Notes includes several updates and news relating to Ultra, such as the rolling out of Ultra Games Wave 3, new games that were added to the platform, Uniq drops, as well as the announcement of a new application coming to our ecosystem.

Company Updates
Release of Wave 3 of the Ultra Games Closed Beta!
On the 14th of December, we went live with Wave 3 of the Ultra Games closed beta — the final wave before we go public with the application.
Wave 3 invites more players to test the platform on key attributes such as speed, storage, and scalability. Players will also have a wider variety of games to explore, including web2 and web3 titles from some of our recent partnerships.
Users participating in Wave 3 will be asked to share specific feedback on their experience using the app, including the recently updated games pages, and functionalities relating to purchasing games.
Players who held various Uniqs were given access to Wave 3 of the Ultra Games beta. These Uniqs were: Ready, Set, Go!, Power Up, Ultra Power #4, #5, and #13, Fire Elemental Soul, and Collective Soul.
We’re not done giving further access to Wave 3, and we’ll be hosting numerous activities where players can get the opportunity to test the app themselves. Sign up through our application form and follow our Twitter to keep updated!
Announcement of Ultra Arena!
We announced a new application coming to the Ultra ecosystem — Ultra Arena. This is an application we’ve been building with an unannounced partner and will take a unique approach to esports tournament platforms.
Ultra Arena is a web3 esports tournament application where amateur to professional players can compete in their favorite web2 or web3 games and earn rewards in the form of Uniqs and $UOS.
The app is set to become a cornerstone of the Ultra ecosystem, providing a new value-generation method for more serious players, as well as a marketing channel for organizations and game developers.
Exclusive beta tournaments are set for Q1 of 2023, and we’ll soon be announcing ways you can get involved — so follow us on Twitter!
Mummy.io on Ultra!
We announced our partnership with Mummy Labs, a free-to-play, play-and-earn title that will be available during Wave 3. Mummy is an open-world MMORPG where players can explore Ancient Egypt, battle it out in PVE & PVP arenas, or embark on quests with friends.
Along with game distribution, we’ll be jointly launching NFT campaigns on the Uniq Marketplace, giving players exclusive benefits within the game. Check out the trailer below:
New Drops!
Two new drops went down on the Uniq Marketplace during December:
- Ultra Energy Gold: Ultra Energy is an independent project that chose the Uniq Marketplace to release their first collection of Uniqs. The project combines a physical asset and digital art, offering utility, a web3 proprietary authentication technology, and more.
- Silent Night: As a Christmas present from the Ultra team, we airdropped holiday-themed Uniqs to several lucky wallets!
Development Updates
Deep linking functionality!
We’ve made headways with deep linking, a functionality that will mean we can link users from any website to a specific destination on the Ultra client. Rather than players launching Ultra themselves and manually finding their desired page, we will soon be able to link to any page on Ultra from any source.
The goal of deep linking is to facilitate marketing initiatives and enhance the user’s experience by making it easier to access content across our applications. We’ll have more updates on deep linking soon.
Game tokenization is progressing!
We’re excited to share that we’re making steady progress with game tokenization! This is a core feature of Ultra, enabling players to buy and sell games as Uniqs on our marketplace. This means players can derive value from their old games, while developers can earn a small portion of each secondary sale that occurs. More updates on game tokenization are on their way.
Uniq pages supporting MP4!
MP4 integration is expected to feature upon the release of the next client update (2.2.0.). Soon, we’ll be releasing the integration for a beta test, whereby we’ll be testing the functionality of the feature. Further updates on the release will be announced soon.
End-to-end in-game user authentication!
We’re in the process of building end-to-end in-game user authentication workflow, allowing game developers to know the gamer’s username, and perhaps greet them with a “Hello John” as the game launches. This workflow doesn’t require any effort from users: the game will authenticate with the same account currently logged into Ultra’s app.
Game developers will also be able to know the user’s blockchain wallet ID in order to, for example, send them Uniqs based on completed missions!
At a later stage, we will also tie in the user’s decentralized identity system in order to allow game developers to conveniently get the user’s Avatar image, which will be derived from a Uniq the user will select as an avatar from their Uniq inventory.
