London wine tasting outlook
At first, we thought August would be pretty much a wine tasting holiday month. Turns out, we were wrong! Contrary to our expectations, we have managed to find 118 wine tastings on UnscrewMe this month, and we might still add more over the coming days.
You will be pleased to know that in August, we started listing a wide range of new events North, South, East and West:
- Wine Pantry run regular vineyard tours from London Victoria to various places around London. Sounds like a fun day out!
- The Salusbury Wine Store in Queens Park does at least one or two tastings every month, definitely a shop you should keep your eyes on if you live in the area.
- Casa Manolo in Putney teams up with The Sampler wine shop to do regular tastings with Spanish food pairings.
- Bromley Wine Society is a newly launched local initiative in South London with monthly tasting sessions.
- Petersham Nurseries run a great series of tastings in their Petersham Cellar shop in Covent Garden and their base in Richmond.
- Vivat Bacchus with its two locations in Farringdon & London Bridge organise monthly wine quizzes as well as wine & meat matching feasts.
- East London Wine School updated event listings with more locations: Westland Coffee & Wine and Broker’s Wine Bar in Leadenhall Market.
- 67 Pall Mall, the top-notch wine members’ club in Mayfair, now fully opens up its excellent tasting events to non-members. A highly appreciated move, all events we went to so far were outstanding with an interesting selection of wines.

(On a beautiful Saturday in July, the events team at Fitzrovia Chapel served a very pleasant Cava Selección Reserva by Juvé y Camps for the wedding reception of a good friend 🍾. This refreshing sparkling wine from Spain 🇪🇸 made from a blend of the local white grape varieties Parellada, Xarel-lo & Macabeo was a perfect drink for a sunny day in central London. ☀️ The 2016 vintage also got 91 points from Decanter as is conveniently available from Waitrose at a rather reasonable price.)
