Bat Infestation Property Sell Off
As the Halloween season deepens, Upland is becoming filled with a creepy energy. Bats have been appearing in various places across San Francisco. Some say that we’re going to see a bat infestation take over SF Upland.
This is why we’re having a Bat Infestation Sell Off Challenge!
The player who earns the most UPX through property sales will be gifted the choice of where to place the official Upland Haunted house, reaping all the prestige and visits that come with it. 2nd place will win 35,000 UPX and 3rd place will win 20,000 UPX.
Wednesday, there will be bat pinatas emerging across the SF map at various haunted locations. Some will be very valuable, some will be floppers, but all bat pinatas will be fun!
The challenge starts Tuesday at 7am PT and ends on Wednesday at 7pm PT.
Who is the Evol Explorer?!
Get ready for Upland’s own murder-mystery style event. Done Upland style, in a uniquely creative way that will promote collaboration and attention to detail.
Miles’ success in pioneering the expansion of Upland has sown the seeds of jealousy in the hearts of a few digital entities. As we learned in the SF Heist several months ago, there are villains lurking in Upland, waiting for their opportunity…
It would appear that Miles’ attacker utilized the cover of Halloween to plan his capture. He’s trapped somewhere in the haunted house, but luckily the Upland team was able rally the community in an effort to reveal Miles’ whereabouts. While Miles is missing, it’s up to the clever community of Upland to solve the mystery of who attacked Miles.

Haunted House Trick or Treating
The Upland community has been hard at work designing haunted houses and haunted experiences for all Uplanders to enjoy.
To celebrate this creative work we’re hosting a special haunted house tour, where players will be able to visit all the awesome haunted houses designed by our community. In addition, each location will have some treats…and maybe even some tricks.
Registration for the tour is required. Registration opens on Thursday at 2pm PT and closes at 4pm PT on Saturday. The tour will start at 5pm PST and will continue until Sunday at 6pm PT. Registration will be required to participate, although you can still visit the haunted houses outside of the tour (starting October 29th). Just go to the treasure screen in your menu and tap “Haunted House Tour”.
Every player who completes all the trick or treat locations through the tour will receive a limited edition 2020 Ghost block explorer.
As our Halloween finale, IF the citizens of Upland can solve the Evol Explorer puzzle, then Miles will be released and he will be able to finish his grand haunted house experience, which will be added to our tour.
Costume Parade
We will have 2 Costume parades, one Friday at 12pm-1pm PT and Saturday at 6pm-7pm PT. Halloween themed pinatas will be dropped along the route.
To join the parade just visit The San Francisco Neptune Society Columbarium (a famously haunted building) or any address on Loraine court, during the aforementioned times, and your block explorer will automatically join the parade route. You’ll be able to see all the different costumed block explorers traveling the path of haunted destinations. Plus pinatas!
You must have a block explorer costume enabled in order to join the parade (we’ll provide one if you didn’t upload a custom one in advance).
Best Custom Explorer Costume Contest
After the last costume parade we will be holding a community-driven costume contest with prizes! 1st place will win 25,000 UPX, 2nd place will win 15,000 UPX, 3rd place will win 10,000 UPX.
In order to participate in the costume contest, you will have to visit our Discord and check out the #Halloween channel after the parade ends Saturday. There will be more details in the channel, as well as lively conversation from Uplanders celebrating Halloween all over the world!
Haunted Design Contest Results
Which player submitted the best 3D Haunted House and best Haunted Experience Video? Our creative team will be the judge.
Saturday we will announce the top 3 submissions. 1st place will win 40,000 UPX, 2nd place will win 25,000 UPX, 3rd place will win 15,000 UPX. The top 3 places will win a limited edition Zombie block explorer.
Halloween Explorer Collection
There will be 5 limited edition commemorative Halloween 2020 block explorers. You’ll definitely want to collect them all if you can, because not only are they rare, but this will be a Halloween that no one forgets! Each of these special explorers will also convert to NTFs in the future, making them tradeable inside and outside of Upland.
