Yesterday, I watched some videos from Marc Hassenzahl, a UX professor talking about Experience Design. He made me see experience design from another perspective which puts more focus on the experience rather than the user. Here is a recap.
2.0 Experience Design Continued
Today, I continued watching the videos from Marc Hassenzahl, and there is this statement he made about design, that I really love:
“Design is a dialogue between users and designers”
It means, Users + Designers = Negotiating what the product will be.
He explained that most products being designed today are more focused on the materialistic feeling when using the product. He gave an example of the iPhones. There is always this urge by users to get their hands on the latest iPhones, it’s not because of the experience they will get(because it still has the same features), but because of the materialistic feeling they get when using the product.
