A Free Verse Poem Vagabond Voices writing prompt and invitation to go out and have a moment.

It’s a sight of wonder,
Within tropical sea waters
You are illuminated in the dark
As tiny Phosphorescence
Light up your body
With a glow which takes away your breath
On first sight.

A wonder of nature which
Has to be experienced
To be believed, yet here it is
As though a secret well kept
Hidden by nature itself
Until stumbled upon.

At first feelings of dismay,
Disbelief at what the eyes can see,
A sea full of stars as if reflected from
The clear night sky,
Puzzlement at what this can be.

Unless found in reading
Or nature programs
most of us would be unaware
Of these tiny lights of joy.

The fluidity of movement within the water as
These small wonders mould around the body
In perfect harmony as
You glide within the warm sea’s water
As if swimming in the universe,
Leaves you submersed in feelings of pure elation.

To dive down, to open your eyes under the surface
Of gentle rippling water
Gives the feeling of stars rushing you by as if travelling
At great speed amongst them.

It’s not so easy to leave the wonderful
Night sea, host to the beautiful Phosphorescence,
Alas! There is always tomorrow night!

Phosphorescence in the sea,
Phosphorescence in the sky,
Phosphorescence all around me,
Phosphorescence in my eye!
