It took 10 years for technology and the world to get to where we are today. There are many hurdles to adoption, one of which is the focus on quick wealth instead of user-case. When in fact, the true value of cryptocurrencies will be unlocked when they are actually used for money transfers, bill and salary payments, e-commerce, service purchasing, etc. basically in everyday life.

The mood in cryptocurrency space is nowhere near 2017 levels. For Verge as a non-ICO, community-based cryptocurrency, it is a chance to focus on building the products that will enable, user-friendly applications to carry out everyday transactions privately and the partnerships that provide the foundation for everyday use.

One of the latest change to the Verge Team is that it is once again growing, with the latest addition: Melvin. He will be focusing on business development outreach. Give him a follow to see his work and dedication firsthand!

In this article we will be mentioning the following topics:

1- Cryptocurrency Fee Structure
2- New Partnerships, Exchanges, and Vendors
3- Fueled by Verge
4- Verge University
5- Community Effort
6- Media coverage

1- Cryptocurrency Fee Structure

Let us start this section reminding ourselves of the fee structure mentioned in the last marketing article:

Today, we will look at the fee structure of online and offline businesses. Currently, when we buy products online, or in a store, we can pay with cash, bank card or credit cards (electronic cash, Visa, Mastercard, etc). Depending on the location of the payment processors such as Alipay, WeChat pay, Apple pay or Paypal could be used as preferred methods of payments.

From the customer perspective, there are no additional fees and most times, only the price value needs to be paid. . On the other hand, due to the nature of the fiat system, all of these transactions suffer from the inefficient exchange of fiat in the background, causing in the best of scenarios, a 1–2% fee, See below further fee structure examples applied today:

Due to the inherent improvement in organisational structure of cryptographic transactions, cryptocurrency fees are much lower. In the above table you can see an example of how much cheaper. The Verge community works on the assumption that fees will be even lower with the widespread adoption of the cryptocurrency payment ecosystem.

Part of the different in fees from coinpayments and Netcents, is that Netcents offers direct settlement in fiat for some currencies, thus making crypto even more attractive to fiat users.

2- New Partnerships, Exchanges, and Vendors

Verge Currency first announced the partnership with Paycent, a financial platform aiming to become global leader for complete mobile and cashless transactions. On 5th of August Paycent has announced the full integration of XVG to their platform. This enabled the users the ability to spend XVG in-store, online and withdraw through ATMs globally through the Paycent card.

Another partnership which has been announced recently is with Ganja.com, an online CBD (Cannabidiol) retailer. Investment bank Stifel, believes that U.S. cannabis/cannabinoid sales could hit $100 billion in a decade, comprising half of all global sales. This partnership opens the doors to a new industry while promoting the need of a privacy-based cryptocurrencies.

ChangeNOW has supported Verge Currency for many years, and since then they have started up NowPayments, and NowNodes — both which they have also added and support Verge Currency! Thanks to them for their support.

ABRA has added #XVG withdrawals to their platform.

Bittrex has recently partnered with two exchanges, Cryptofacil and Rain enabling the cryptocurrency assets to be traded on these platforms. This opens up XVG to the Caribbeans, Dominican Republic, the Middle East, and North Africa.

3- Fueled by Verge

On 6th August at the Milwaukee Mile race track, Smith Racin’ Inc. unveiled the latest sponsor to join the Upsate Racing League’s team as a new sponsor partner with Fueled by Verge & Verge Currency. As a show of gratitude for all their work, ChangeNOW, Nowpayments, and NowNodes, will be featured this upcoming 2019–2020 season on select shows!! Thank you for all you do!

4- Verge University

In the first Marketing update, we presented to you the concept of Verge University, and today, we are updating you on its current standing. Progress has been made on the educational platform, but there is much work that remains to be done, on the graphics and content to be used on the platform. Here is a sneak peek of the test environment.

Are you interested to become a tutor and create content to teach students about blockchain basics? Do you have what it takes to teach the next generation about the latest tech? Reach out to Jaybawz. Stay tuned for more Verge Uni in the next marketing updates!

5- Community Effort

Verge Jaguar’s Crowdfunding

As a community project, we strive to encourage all our members to participate and help the project where they can. Anwar, who as the owner of 247bids, wanted to give back to the project. Having dealt with crypto lawyers, he got Verge a great deal on having a Howeytest done.

Anwar organized a crowdfund which was completed in about 24 hours. You can see this twitter thread here.

For those who don’t know, the Howey Test verifies if Verge is a securities or not. Having it completed will legitimize Verge Currency in the eyes of the US legal system, and will open the road for Verge to be listed on American exchanges that are compliant with American regulations.

We shall know the outcome in the next 3/4 weeks. Stay tuned for more!

Verge Vendor Outreach update

Open Access Trello resources for company outreach by the community.

This is the community Trello, used to reach out to companies. Every week the international admins vote on companies to target to list verge, while our users, and Melvin, target companies daily.

Special thanks to Grandpriest, PCP and Melvin for constantly, without stopping, trying to get new businesses to list Verge! Thanks to Grandpriest we also have this video here:
