Overview

In June, a little over 6200 new events were added to the database, which means that your party planning can get quite busy — in theory, at least. The majority of these events were added for the United States and are of the Rock persuasion. Interestingly enough, every fifth added event was in the Country genre, so if you’re into riding waves OR riding horses, your odds of finding a cool event are not bad at all :)

Although we were expecting more outdoor events, almost half of the newly added ones will take place in a hall.

Go check out the events near you and find your perfect match. If you need some new jams to go with your browsing, check out the selection made by fellow enthusiast Ruben.

Contributor Spotlight

Remember the maestros we spotlighted the last time? They also smashed it in June — while both Astrid 👑 and vALEn ESKEREEEEE ♫ made it to Top 5, the May chart-topper Xoel López 🌳 managed to double his points, boasting 324690 points in first place. Respect!

A very special shoutout also goes to Ricardiño, Deivid Di Natale and Carolina Semprum, who entered the Top 10 chart, and we’re waving a big “welcome to Top 10–20” to first-timers Luis Segura and VortexOfficial.

Legends walk among us as well — in June, two enthusiasts stepped up their game and gained the coveted “Legendary” badges. Here’s how they made it.

Oh yeah, they *rocked*.

What’s New & in the Pipeline

We were super busy with the Viberate PRO beta launch and we’re already receiving some great feedback from artists and other beta testers. All this wouldn’t be possible without your hard work. The fact that our community never stops entering insane amounts of fresh data is proving invaluable to many musicians out there. Thank you!

To make things even cooler: the brand new Contribution Dashboard is coming up next month, so keep your eyes open for polished-up stats, new badges, and more suggested tasks.

Tips & Tricks

Circling back to the events we talked about in the intro: here’s how you can show some love to them and be more efficient at the same time.

No double entries. Before you add a new event to the database, make sure to check if the event is already listed. But don’t use the search box. Instead, inspect both the Viberate page of the venue that will hold the event and the performing artists’ pages.

Tickets info. This section is not mandatory, but it holds important information and references for people. If possible, enter the ticket info in the add form. For example, you can find ticket links on Facebook event pages and homepages.

Who’s Who at Viberate?

This time around, let’s give a collective hi-five to Damjan, our Artist Team Lead, better known to his friends and colleagues as Bizzy. As “resident OCD guy”, Bizzy is responsible for the accuracy of our Artist pages, which means leading, managing and mentoring contributor teams, and diligently watching over charts and data on a daily basis.

Attention to detail is one thing, but Bizzy mostly believes in the big picture. “If you don’t back your project with a strong, long-lasting concept — a philosophy, even — don’t bother doing it.”

Music has been a big part of Bizzy’s life way before he started DJ-ing in 1989 (yep, we’ve got ourselves a pioneer here). “Even as a kid, I somehow always ended up in charge of playing music at school dances and parties. Which sometimes meant I’d be leaping out of the shower towards my cassette recorder if the radio station happened to play something cool that I’d be using later,” he recalls.

He went on to be involved in just about any pioneering Slovenian Electronic project, produced several projects (do check out Dataminions, Ouroborots, Rotor, Temponauta, Helga Neuer, etc. on Bizzy’s Soundcloud), and toured the world with both UMEK and Laibach, because sure, why not.

When asked which events he’s looking forward to the most lately, Bizzy delivers the perfect punchline: “You know what, none. I’ve done over 2500 events in my career, travelling the distance to the Moon and back like five times, so nowadays I honestly appreciate some peace and quiet :D”

What to say — our guy knows what he’s about. We hope you get some well-deserved R&R as well, and if you’re interested in legendary tales of an artist’s life on the road, be sure to ping Bizzy on our Discord channel.
