VIMANA is invited by the Government of Mianyang, Sichuan to deploy its lower airspace autonomous transportation technology across the Sichuan province

VIMANA has achieved further success in negotiations with local and regional authorities during the Mianyang Science and Technology Expo exhibition and was invited to massively deploy its technology through the Sichuan province in Southwest China.

Last week VIMANA has presented it’s deep technology during the Mianyang Science and Technology fair that took place on September 5–8 in the city of Mianyang, the second largest prefecture-level city of Sichuan province in Southwest China.

Among many high profile guests, Mianyang City Mayor Mr. Liu Chao and Vice Mayor Mr. Yuan Fang paid an extended visit to the VIMANA exhibition facilities and took a personal tour from VIMANA CEO Evgeni Borisov. Mr. Chao, on behalf of the Government of Mianyang, has invited VIMANA to deploy its lower airspace autonomous transportation technology across Sichuan for carrying cargos and tourists.

Sichuan is a landlocked province in Southwest China occupying most of the Sichuan Basin and the easternmost part of the Tibetan Plateau. The population of Sichuan stands at 81mn. Official data from Sichuan province show that the province welcomed some 3.7mn overseas visitors in 2018, increasing 10 percent year-on-year. Mianyang is the second largest prefecture-level city of Sichuan province with a population close to 6mn.

Overpopulation in the region calls for new solutions both for cargo and resident passengers transportation, and for the rapidly growing traffic of tourists, domestic and overseas. The government response to this challenge is in state supported development of technologies and machines that are capable of adding an extra dimension by utilizing the aerial space.

When visiting the VIMANA expo stand, Mianyang City Mayor Mr. Liu Chao stated: “Development of the aerial transportation represents one of the core ways to further strengthen the infrastructure of the Sichuan province as a whole, and the city of Mianyang in particular, and we believe that empowering VIMANA technological solutions will act as an important milestone in this process bringing better economics of many sectors including transportation and tourism, and building up on the region’s competitive position.”
