Vending Machines NFT (VMNFT) has been active and building on the Avalanche community since its launch in January 2022. When you mint 1 VMNFT, it’s bundled with at least 3 other NFTs (a VM Gorilla, VM Hat, and a VM Comics). This article will cover some of the more recent things happening with the VM Projects including some of the special benefits for holders and fun community activities.

My favorite VMNFT of the week. The swirly patterns around it looks rare. It’s currently listed for 250 Avax!

VM Project continues to build up its metaverse. The bear market has slowed but not stopped the team and the community and we are still here. Vending Machines is one of my favorite collections on the Avalanche Network, not only for the current offering but also for the potential it can have, especially the upcoming Metaverse Land being developed.

Community Events

I wanted to start by featuring VM Community Art, as the community — the people — is always the focus.

I love featuring artists, and you would especially know this if you read my other articles. If you would like to be featured here, just make some Vending Machines/Hats/Gorillas artwork and post it in the Discord or tag VendMachineNFT and we would love to promote your page.

Twitter Spaces and NFT Giveaways

Twitter Spaces are one of the best ways to help communities grow. In the case of VM, we’re a global crew from a colorful palette of backgrounds made up of artists, developers, businessmen, gamers, teachers, athletes, investors, and all sorts of people, young and old, fat and thin. We share more in common than we probably realize, because somehow now we are all co-cooperating in the rise of this unknown Web 3.0 experience that is literally being realized each day.

The Vibe

There’s something about the Vending Machine idea and aesthetic that draws us in.

Look at that. VM is a unique aesthetic. This is a statement. Inside we can see the giant stone-looking orbs that couldn’t possibly fit through the vending machine slot. This is a bold critique on late-stage capitalism. If you bought one, the bowling ball looking thing would roll out and smash out of the glass, as if to say, “I have no limits. You can’t put me on display like some object for you to purchase and consume. I am large. I roll. I smash. I am an orb from the internet beyond your imaginings. I am free.” This is what the large Orb inside the Vending Machine would say.

This one

I feel like I have to read some theory. I’m going to come back to this image in 10 years and discover some deeper hidden layers of meaning.

All I can feel is that the potential for a digital vending machine as part of an interactive metaverse is just limitless. Devs, please help make my dreams a reality.

Trivia

There has been a weekly riddle trivia game in the Discord hosted by Thorny⚒|VM, one of the VM Discord moderators. We would love to have some more people playing so check it out next week!

Check out the Announcements tab on the Discord page to see when the next game is being played. The game takes place on the General Chat tab of the Discord Channel.

Game Collaborations

Although this current event is almost over at the time of writing, it just shows you an example of one of the unexpected perks of being a VM Holder. Just hang on to your VMNFT, because there will be more surprises in the future.

VM Metaverse Land

A big vision of VM Projects is the release of having your own land within the VM Metaverse. You will be able to build on it and interact with others. All VMNFT owners will have their own VM Land for this metaverse. Personally, I’ve always had the vision to make a Japanese-inspired Zen Garden Spa with Japanese style Vending Machine inside of it selling cool stuff. The back end is all being built now by the very skilled developers at Mainleaf.

VM Projects

You can find all three of these NFTs at this page. Note that you should already own at least 1 of each collection if you have minted a VMNFT. If you decide not to mint, you can still mint each collection separately here. Here is some updates on each of the projects.

VM Gorilla P2E Game

Recently, VM Gorillas has seen the biggest update as the game has been developed and soft launched on the VM main page. VM Gorilla (VMG) has always been a part of a family of projects. If you minted a Vending Machines NFT, you also received a Gorilla.

Back end still being worked on — patience is a virtue ;)

You can currently play the game here. At the moment the Gorilla developers — notably, a different team from the VM Lands — are working on fixing some issues, but when it’s ready, you will be able to play this side-scrolling platformer to earn VM Gorilla Coin (VMGC). You can play test it right now, but claiming your coin is currently unavailable. Stay tuned in the Discord and Twitter for updates about this situation.

VM Comics

It’s been months since Issue #2 was announced, and some people have been wondering what’s going on with it. Issue #1 was a unique NFT airdrop with a comic book split up into three different parts (3 NFTs). Each NFT contained 3 pages of the story and 1 NFT was airdropped per VM NFT held in the wallet.

Issue #2, although it’s ready, is taking longer to officially release because the team is doing something very new and cool — a real copy of a comic book has been developed! The logistics of how it will be sent are being figured out now, and some other details.

The Twitter pinned post shows that the comic books have already been made! There is a very limited production, so keep an eye out soon for more information on how to get one. Some comic books have already been sent for free to prominent Avalanche community members.

Real hard copies of the Vending Machines NFT comic books! I love it
Issue #1

Definitely looking forward to reading Issue #2.

VM Hats

VM Hats is one of the NFTs you received for free when you minted a VMNFT. You can also mint one separately. VM Hats is still on track to be utilized as a staking project on Campfire, but it’s taking some time. A lot of things are moving more slowly since we are in the bear market following the worst crypto crash in history, so I think the delays are understandable as the whole crypto userbase has been deeply shaken by those events.
