Voyages is about travel and travel writing in the great tradition of the likes of Nicolas Bouvier, Pierre Loti and many others, who were mostly men. Travel as opposed to tourism which, being essentially a temporary distraction from the repetitiveness of our daily lives, does not profoundly change us. Voyages is written exclusively by women, often mothers too, who until now have had no real place in the travel writing section. Not wanting to be limited by language, gender, or social barriers, they pack up and go to confront themselves to the world. They brave everything for their passion and are not afraid of a journey alone. They are independent minds and free spirits, and if need be, they pack up their children and take them along, but they will not stop travelling.
