With Halloween only days away, it’s finally time for us to judge your souls — err, I mean… your devilish machinations! This year’s Spookality was announced back in September, designed to serve as a season-appropriate jam. As always, we were curious to see what ghoulish creations our community would conjure up.
Suffice to say, our talented creators pulled out everything they had, leaving us impressed, but also a little terrified. Some of you have some… interesting imaginations. That’s all we’re going to say.
Not only were we overwhelmed with your talent, but also the sheer number of submissions to Spookality this year. We received more avatars and worlds than any previous year!
You’ve probably seen some of them already: unlike previous years, we’ve been updating the Spookality Featured Row on a weekly basis, to give all of our eager hunters an early taste of Halloween as we approach the end of the month.
If you want to see all of them (including the winners below) you will be able to see them in a special Spookality Winner’s World Row, as well as in the Spookality Hub world in VRChat. (That’s also where you’ll be able to see all of the avatars submitted — including our favorites!)

Congratulations to the winners! As always, we’ve had an absolute blast putting ourselves in the shoes of your imaginative avatars or stepping into your haunting experiences. With a record-breaking number of submissions this year, it wasn’t easy for us to decide on the top-placing entries. (Seriously: we’re not going to say who, but some of us were up until the witching hour debating winners!)
If you placed in the top ten winners for either category, please keep an eye out for an e-mail directly from us to the e-mail address registered with your VRChat account in the coming days so we can get in touch with you for your t-shirt size and shipping address.
Additionally, a massive thank you to everyone who participated! And if you didn’t win — or even if you did! — we’d encourage you to keep your eyes out for future VRChat World & Avatar Jams in the future! Not everything has to be spooky!
