Five Years of Blogging and We’re Not Done Yet!
Last month the Washington State Law Library Blog reached a milestone. We turned 5! Since we published our first four posts on April 10, 2018, we have published 225 posts in total. Sometimes we just needed to post updates about our services and location and other times we brought you information about the latest pressing legal issues. Whatever it is, we always strive to take the utmost care in delivering current and trustworthy information to our readers.
You can find our ten most read stories here. They include posts about guardianship and medical debt, as well as three book reviews. Stories on the 2021 State v. Blake decision and the historic police reform legislation that passed in the same year also top the list.
Over the last year we have continued to blog on topics that serve the diverse needs of our patrons, whether they be judges, court staff, attorneys, government employees, or self-represented litigants. We have added to our popular collection of book review blogs and also published guides on legal resources like court rules and judicial benchbooks. We have introduced our new LexisNexis Digital eBook Collection and published resources on new civil protection order laws and processes. There is always something interesting around the corner to blog about!
COVID and the extended closure of the Temple of Justice to the public not only provided an opportunity for us to focus on our blog content, but it also allowed us to move to a concierge model of reference service. As we blend these extensive remote services with our recently opened public desk and research room in Tumwater, you may notice fewer blog posts. But fear not! We remain committed to publishing frequent and timely posts on developments in the law, legal research resources, and materials in our collection.
Thank you for sticking with us over the last five years! We have eagerly watched our readership grow and we truly appreciate all of your continued support. We look forward to what’s in store for the future. Please follow us to make sure you don’t miss a story. (SC)
