Late last night, a friend and I pledged to stay up until we managed to produce a Stuart Hall-inspired app for iOS and submit it for review. Unfortunately, some technical shortcomings (read: incompetence) led to it taking a few extra hours than planned (roughly 12 in total). However, we’re still relatively pleased with ourselves, and can’t wait to share the results with you!

The app is, what we consider, a twist on the 7 Minute Workout craze that seemed to take developers on all platforms by storm in June/July. We decided that making a FlatUI-based fitness timer would be a cool feat to try and pull off in a day, too. Instead of completely ripping off our source of inspiration, we decided to go down a non-competing avenue: namely, an app that allows you to complete a Yoga workout in 7 minutes. As far as we can tell, not many ‘7 minute’ attempts have been made in the Yoga space (apart from Oprah’s resident fitness instructor’s Yoga-esque workout); perhaps that’s a telling sign not to give it a go!

We’re hoping that the attention surrounding the 7 Minute Workout app names on the App Store, especially given our app’s name — 7 Minute Yoga Workout — will be enough to produce some sort of download volume. Who knows, maybe no one will think it’s worth their while to download it! Let’s just wait and see…

Here are some screenshots to show you what we’ve submitted.

We’ll update you when it’s released.

The main screen uses a ScrollView to display all the Yoga poses covered in the app’s workout.
The workout screen features a simple image and audio guide, as well as a timer.
