who are you not to be?

Who are you not to be? is a blog dedicated to feature writing about people you meet every day. I hope to get to the heart of who people are: how they think and what they hope for.

Who runs this place?

That would be me. My name is Charlotte. You can read more about me here.

What’s your goal here?

I’ve started this site for several reasons. I wanted to embark on a project that will help me hone my writing and interview skills. I am also (abnormally) preoccupied with learning about everyday people, what inspires and frustrates them and what experiences they’ve had in their life. Additionally, I have a budding interest in photography that I hope to nurture. This blog will give me an outlet to do all of the above.

Where is the title from?

I pulled the title from one of my favorite quotes by Marianne Williamson, which was published in her book A Return To Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles:

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

So where are all the posts?

This is a relatively new endeavor and I am but one soul with a full time job. I will slowly but steadily build up content.
