Dear Wombat Family,

As we want to make sure you all know what you’re getting yourselves into with Dungeon Worlds and Lands, we want to share some answers to the most Frequently Asked Questions:

Where & when does the Genesis Land Drop take place?

Like all of our WAX-based NFT drops, our Genesis Land Drop will be performed via Neftyblocks, the most popular marketplace in the WAX space when it comes to drops. The VIP drops start at 4pm UTC on December 29th, followed by the Public drops 30 minutes later.

What do I get?

There are 34 drops, each containing one pack with a patch of multiple lands, with one exception (the Mega Pack, which is actually two packs). Buying a drop doesn’t give you just one Land, it’s 9, 16, 25 or 100 individual Land tiles depending on the size of the pack.

You can find more information about the drop itself in our previous Medium post.

What can Lands be used for?

Lands will have multiple functions with Dungeon Worlds:

  1. They will allow their owners to launch a dungeon in Dungeon Worlds if they own at least a 3x3 patch of adjacent Lands. Packs purchased in the Genesis Land Drop will contain such configurations as 3x3, 4x4, 5x5 or 10x10 adjacent Lands.
  2. Individual Lands can be used for mining. The material which can be mined from each Land depends on the Land itself. Mining will launch before the actual Dungeon Worlds game.
  3. Renting: Lands can be rented to other players (i.e. if they want to expand their dungeon) to earn a passive income
  4. Grow/build: In later expansions of Dungeon Worlds, it will be possible to grow plants on Lands to produce certain extra materials (e.g. wood from growing trees), or to construct buildings to offer services to nearby dungeon players

When launch?

We plan to launch Dungeon Worlds in later Q2 / early Q3 2023

Can I stake Land in Dungeon Master?

Yes and no. Genesis Land Packs will be stakeable in Wombat Dungeon Master with fairly high MP:

  • Small Packs will have 10k MP
  • Medium Packs will have 15k MP
  • Large Packs will have 20k MP
  • The two Mega Packs will have a combined 25k MP

Individual Genesis Lands will not be stakeable at first since we want to avoid incentivizing the trading of individual Lands from this drop. Remember, the packs from this drop will contain enough Lands to run an entire dungeon upon the launch of Dungeon Worlds.

Where can I buy these single Lands for $200 each?

The single Lands will be available in the next Land Drops. This drop is exclusively for people or companies who are looking to run an entire dungeon. The first drop for individual Lands is planned for late January 2023.

What’s the best way to buy WAX in order to participate in the drop?

Not all major exchanges have WAX listed. However, great exchanges like Binance, Kucoin, Bithumb and many others do. You find a list of all exchanges with WAX available on Coinmarketcap.

Another way of purchasing WAX is via the Wombat app through our partner Moonpay. It’s directly accessible via this link.

Will everyone need Land to play?

No. Players of Wombat Dungeon Master will be able to play the game as they used to. Players in Dungeon Worlds will be able to play in multiple dungeons without owning Land, they will only need Wombat character NFTs to play more than the original dungeon.

Do I need to be the owner of a collection to make it stakeable in Dungeon Worlds?

No. Just like in Dungeon Master, any owner of a dungeon will be able to enable collections for staking in their dungeons as they see fit. This can include their own collections, of course, but doesn’t have to.

What are those Wombat character NFTs?

In Dungeon Worlds, wombats running in the dungeons will be NFTs which can be leveled up individually. Each player of Dungeon Master will have the chance to get a bunch of character NFTs simply from playing.

How will I be able to generate rewards from a dungeon?

Once you own Land, running a dungeon will be fairly easy:

  1. Set up stakeable collections and mining weights
  2. Set up other rules, including tax rate or certain qualifications to be met by players
  3. (Optional) Add token or NFT prizes for the season
  4. Attract players to dungeon

As the season progresses, active dungeons will accumulate reward points based on the size of the dungeon, its equipment, the number of active players, the number of staked NFTs, etc. These reward points will determine the dungeon’s share of rewards paid out in WOMBAT tokens to the players of this dungeon. The tax rate will determine how much of that prize remains with the dungeon owner.

A little example:
Dungeon A gets 1m reward points, Dungeon B 2m reward points within a season. If the total reward for the season is $300k, Dungeon A will receive $100k and Dungeon B gets $200k in rewards. If Dungeon A has set a tax rate of 10%, then the owner of Dungeon A will receive $10k in rewards, the remaining $90k will be divided among the players of Dungeon A depending on their respective season performance similar to the current Dungeon Master model.

Will I be the only person getting Land to run a dungeon?

No. We already have an impressive selection of partners who have committed to running dungeons within Dungeon Worlds, including some of the most popular projects from in WAX space as well as from other ecosystems, like Taco, NFT Panda, Castles NFT, Nifty Kicks, Uplift, Tiny Worlds and many more who are still a secret 😉

How will mining work?

In order to mine on a single Land, you’ll have to lock your Land (so you don’t sell it while mining) and assign a Wombat character. This will passively produce the material that is contained on the Land (see the attributes of the Land NFT) at a base rate equivalent to the materials you can get in Dungeon Master from staking 10 NFTs of the material type and doing a 24h run, with a lot of ways like better Wombats, higher levels and equipment to boost your mining output.

Which Lands do I get, and what are the materials on them?

Since all the Genesis Lands have been pre-minted, you know exactly which coordinates of the Lands you get. In order to have a better understanding of where your Land is located and which materials are on it, you can view this simple map:

Map of Genesis Lands and their materials.

Because of the pre-minting, it is also excluded that you get all the Lands with the same material.

Will I be able to expand my dungeon?

Yes, and expanding the dungeon will not require you to acquire Lands in a quadratic shape, either, it will be enough to do it in rectangular shapes. We’re also thinking about ways of “forcing” Land owners to accept rental requests from the highest bidders for a season in case they’re not using the Lands themselves.

Where can I find more detailed information?

Our Dungeon Worlds web page is an excellent place to start; there, you’ll also find a link to the Dungeon Worlds Whitepaper.

This document will be evolving over time to give you the best possible overview about what you want to know about Dungeon Worlds and the land drops. Let us know your questions via Discord, Twitter, on one of our Twitch streams, or wherever it’s convenient for you to reach out.
