I understand that consistency in self-discipline is hard. But there are fun ways to do it, which I will share with you now.

1. Gamify with something you love

Instead of doing an activity for the sake of doing it with no hype, we can add some spices. We can take the existing activity, and combine it with something we enjoy.

For example, if you just work out for the sake of working out, you can combine it with activities that you love. Such as cycling, or running a marathon with your friends. This will give you the motivation to try out new sports while staying fit.

Or if you are reading books and you find no excitement in them, you can combine that activity by joining a book club. This can give you the motivation to read books with joy.

From the above examples, we can see that it is always great to have buddies with the same goals as you. There will be constant motivation and healthy competition.

Check out this blog where I talk about how 2 is better than 1.

2. Add challenges

If you find it boring to do the same activity that you have been doing, you can add challenges to it.

For example, if you have been doing the same workout routine, you can add more reps or more sets to your routine. Soon, you will notice how far your body can bring you. This will boost your motivation to challenge yourself more.

Or if you have made a plan to read 1 page a day, you can challenge yourself to read 1 chapter per day. Such challenges will show you how far you can go. If you can read 1 chapter, and your book has 7 chapters, you can simply finish reading the book in a week!

From the above examples, you can notice that challenges push us beyond our capabilities. This is truly necessary for self-development.
