When I think about becoming a better writer, I think of all the wonderful possibilities. First of all, I think therefore I write, which is a great reason to #WorkOnWriting. So I can articulate my thoughts through skillfully writing about whatever my heart desires. Now, I know writing can seem outdated at times, but if you think about it. Writing is the pinnacle of content development.

Primary Languages

Sure, there are other ways to communicate information, but writing is the foundation of expression through ANY medium on the web. This matters, because the people we communicate with must be able to articulate the message. For example: United States primary language is English, so anyone who is trying to become a better communicator with people in the United States must know the English language. Therefore, communicating with others takes a primary language, and is only grasped by the people who are familiar with the language of a specific piece of content (unless the work is translated). Any who, those who #WorkOnWriting will position themselves to communicate better, as well as, develop their linguistic skills for endless possibilities.

Read and Write

Two ways to become better at language and communicating is through reading and writing. These are two tasks that take time out of our day. And are tedious to do, as we ALWAYS have something else we can be doing, and when we finally get around to reading and writing we are alone. Doing things on our own, is fun, until we are rushed or get distracted and lose focus. Reading and writing is more rewarding when it happens naturally. My advice to you: find the time and place on a daily basis to naturally read and write (maybe even meditate); if you want to improve.

Understand Thyself

Not to many people like reading, writing or meditating. But, the ones that do are more likely to have a greater understanding for language, communication and themselves. This is because, a person who has a better understanding of themselves seems a little more aligned with their life and where it is going. When they read, they read articles and books that interest them, so they are able to find the enjoyment of reading. And when they write, they are more connected to their spiritual body and mind as they document what they are thinking in a given time period. Putting them into a position to share what they have experienced with those who would like to read their work. Now, I know, not all of us like to read or write. However, everyone contextually consumes content.

Context to Perspectives

The context almost always depends on the person, no matter how well the writer does to predispose the reader, the reader is living their own path i.e.(they apply what they are experiencing to their lives). Specifically looking for content to whatever he/she is determined to find. The type of content preferred is what matters to an individual. For example, some individuals enjoy reading articles and books, while others enjoy listening to audio, or video. Whatever the preferred type of content is, writing will remain an important factor to helping the individuals perspective. Even if the audio version runs off an outline, it takes writing skills to create the outline. If the video has a script, it took writers to write the script. So, when I think of becoming a better writer, the possibilities to apply my skills are endless.

Possibilities

There are many reasons why writing leads to endless possibilities. Here are a few, every business has a slogan, or a product and/or service to sell. Every government has laws that need to be written. And you know something else? Every person has a name that they must learn to spell, read and write. Heck, even American Sign Language has a method to read and write. Making writing one of the most under rated skills of our time. Especially, when we take into consideration how much writing is involved with the internet. Everyday emails, texts, articles, videos, advertisements, podcasts are being published on the web; all of which, take a considerable amount of writing to complete. Writing takes skills, straight up, not everyone can do what I am doing right now, and those of us who can, can probably do it better than me.

Choose Time

Writing is hard and takes time (patience, dedication, perseverance, blah, blah, blah….), and I have been working on writing for years. Literally, and I have barely made it this far. However, I am further now than I was when I first started. This whole time, I have been working to harness my potential as a writer to effectively publish some of my most complex work. And, to develop the skills I am looking for is going to take even more time. This being said, I leave you with this, becoming a greater writer, will help us become greater versions of ourselves in all aspects of life.

What is one way your life would improve if you became better at communicating in your primary language?

To Growth,
