Note from the editor

For all science enthusiasts out there who feel stuck in their fields and are looking for an easy linkage to science out in the broader world, World in Mind creates opinionated, analytical content by propping important topics up on the foundation of relevant academic papers. This format is not only intended to serve as a point of entry into the wider research in the subject domain for a motley-minded enthusiast, but covers enough detail to accentuate nuances that are perceptible to domain experts. The topics covered may be popular (like A.I.) or obscure (like optical metalenses) for the scientific bourgeois, but they have a common theme — each bears important relevance to humanity, whether past, present, or future. Our hope is to provide exposure to a wide gamut of science in an accessible and useful manner, because exposure opens the mind. We hope this proves useful especially to younger students of science, i.e. those in school and undergrad, because the total amount of science going around after the turn of the 21st century is unfathomable. “When you do, keep the science in mind. When you think, keep the world in mind.”
