I’m one of many.

My account was suspended and reinstated from Medium twice last week.

In the past few weeks, numerous accounts have been wrongfully suspended. Writers have been both outraged and scared as it seems like nobody is safe from the suspensions.

Everyone is screaming around about Medium suspensions at the moment, some anxious, some angry, so I have a refreshing message for you:

There’s no reason to worry.

“The Great Purge”

Between 1936 and 1938, 1 million people died.

They were killed by the soviet regime around Joseph Stalin during his frightful campaign to gain power and eliminate his political enemies, later going down in the history books as the Great Purge.

Now, 88 years later, people here on Medium speak of the “Great Purge” when referring to the recent rise in suspensions imposed by Medium’s algorithm.
