“Be Easy”

I was going to write this conversation up into a post, but sharing it raw seems most true to content.

Aside: I’ve never met Fin. Fin is a personal assistant service (in simplest terms) predominantly human, occasionally AI (I’d assume all of Fin’s comments above were written by a human). So this is a pretty incredible example of a purely non-physical relationship and how quickly one can arrive at Depth through messaging. Two brains talking with minimal interface in the physical medium…

Some additional points on honest expression:

One: I find it’s not always easy to articulate honestly; however, it is surprisingly easy to discern whether something is an honest expression or not. Upon a re-read, wrong words, falsehoods and bad rhythm always stick out.

Two: I’ve noticed that honest expression follows a decay curve. It’s strong when I first start, but then falls off over sustained effort..

I think both these observations point to the power of our subconscious machine.. and the fact that at some level, we really are just a conduit to a deeper inexplicable processor that’s humming along, taking things in, doing some unknown transformations, and then spitting out newness. “I” just need to give the Creator water, sunlight and most importantly, space to be.

And now my brain is taking us here..

A related example of the power of our subconscious:
I find it phenomenal that I can be working to a 3hr set, and totally tuned out for over an hour, but then if the layers line up just right… if magic is happening.. the subconscious pings me to pay attention, and then I can’t not listen.

Imagine the complexity of what’s going in there.

Also I’m writing this while standing on the subway, where part of the brain is devoted to an intricate balancing act.

I used to think the burningman sunrise was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever observed… but brains and their intricacies may be even more so.. although it’s silly to rank things in this way. Beauty is non zero-sum. Let’s make more.
