Black and white image of a girl laying in bed. She’s covered with white blankets, with one arm and shoulder over the covers, and her face partly showing. Her brown hair partly covers her face, and her eyes are closed.

I curl up in layers of blankets, my eyes red from crying. Nana’s funeral was today.

I miss her. She was always there for me.

Now she’s gone.

Imagining her tucking me in to bed, I feel a shiver.

Nana whispers, “I’m here, sweetheart. Always.” as she kisses me goodnight.
