Way, way back in late September, we posted a Twitter survey asking which exchange you wanted to see XYO on the most. Now, this was well before we crafted our Intelligent Exchange Strategy (IES), so we were checking the way the wind was blowing before we started creating our guiding document.

We got hundreds of responses! Then we looked at the answers. At first glance, the spread seemed…eh…a little weird.

Almost half of you wanted Bitfinex. Fair enough. The next two exchanges were neck and neck, each grabbing around 15%.

But almost 25% of you went all-in with the “other” option. Many of you were adamant that another exchange topped all others — even Bitfinex. And that killer exchange of unbridled, unbroken devotion was…

KuCoin.

This, my friends, is our newest exchange. Check out our Medium post — with video and step-by-step walkthrough — that shows you how to trade on it.

KuCoin is an exchange destined for glory. An exchange that could conquer the world. An exchange we HODL close to our hearts. Here’s why:

There’s something about KuCoin that turns people into full-blown fanatics. Because KuCoin launched in 2017, the exchange doesn’t have the brand recognition of the Binances and the OKExs and the HitBTCs.

But it has the same devotion…and then some.

This is an exchange that calls itself “The people’s exchange”. An exchange after our own heart! Naturally, that’s not the only reason why we chose them. But it does say a lot about where they stand with their customers.

So, what makes KuCoin a legendary exchange, beyond their .1% across-the-board fee for transactions? Here’s a breakdown of some of the reasons why we went with them.

KuCoin:

*Innovates

This is an exchange that learns and evolves. Right now, the Singapore-based KuCoin staff is getting ready to launch the second version of their platform. KuCoin 2.0 will be released to the world next year, and it’s bound to have plenty of features and goodies, with all the simple and straightforward navigation the site — and iOS and Android apps — are known for.

When the team announced 2.0, they stated that these new features were based on what customers wanted. With customer input driving the evolution of KuCoin, expect great things. Here’s their most recent 2.0 update:

KuCoin now allows customers to use credit cards and debit cards for transactions as well — just another new feature of the popular exchange.

*Takes customer service seriously

You can’t dig into the token space without hearing stories about how bad customer service is for traders. It is the stuff that memes are made of. From customer service agents that can’t communicate in their exchange’s own native language to agents who don’t know how to conduct even a simple transaction, less-than-stellar customer service has been an ongoing problem for even the biggest exchanges.

KuCoin, on the other hand, has made tremendous strides in this department. We’ve asked around! Users routinely speak of the knowledge and availability of KuCoin customer service reps, marveling at how quickly and easily they solve problems. And help is now available 24/7, which means that if you make a mistake on a Friday, there’s no more sweating it out until Monday, when the reps are back online. Here’s a reddit thread focusing specifically on KuCoin’s customer service.

*Is easy to use

Usually when we come across KuCoin users, after they gush about how much they love this exchange, they tell us this: “it’s so easy to use!”. It makes sense, because the KuCoin team has focused heavily on delivering a simple, seamless user experience. KuCoin gets high marks for clean, straightforward design, and a format that not only makes sense, but effortlessly moves you from one screen to the next.

*Has robust financial backing

Last month, KuCoin raised $20 million in Series A funding. Who backed KuCoin? Neo Global Capital, Matrix Partners and IDG Capital. But the deal went beyond just giving KuCoin money, these firms have partnered with the exchange with one goal: Bring tokens to the masses.

KuCoin aims to be a powerhouse global brand, and this financial infusion by established funds — one of which was an early investor in Coinbase — could definitely help their cause.

Plans for the funds, among other things, include opening up new communities in Russia, Turkey, Vietnam, Italy, and Spanish-speaking countries.

*Balances security with ease of use

KuCoin understands the nature of their users, and how they want they want to trade. Here’s the ideal exchange experience: high security, low obstacles. In other words, users want their tokens to be secure, but they don’t want to have to push through a million verification screens to trade small amounts back and forth.

KuCoin uses two-factor authentication and other security measures, but also designed the trading experience to be simple and hassle-free. They’ve aimed for the sweet spot in this respect, and thanks to this balance, KuCoin gets rave reviews from users.

While funding from investors, customer devotion and name recognition is no barometer of how an exchange will do long-term, KuCoin is in it to win it, and they’re keeping their promises. KuCoin wants to bring simple, straightforward trading to people all over the planet. And we want to be with them when that happens!
