Last night I met a girl who told me she’d get rich playing the lottery. Right in front of her eyes and without hesitation she fantasized about what would happen if this were true.

Yachts, trips to Europe, caviar, the whole nine yards.

I felt very bad for her.

Lottery winners often end up poor — even if they win. The winning amount is irrelevant without proper financial literacy.

Think about this, YouTuber “Mr. Beast” dropped $1 million in lottery tickets and ended up losing $200,000. You have to be insanely lucky to win the lottery. It’s not worth it.

Ultimately, getting rich has nothing to do with luck. It boils down to getting a job in the right field, following your passion, investing, and being patient.

Between last night and today, I came up with 3 different mindsets when it comes to growing wealth — if you choose the right one you can get rich, without getting lucky.
