Introducing YGG’s Brazil-focused SubDAO: BAYZ
BAYZ, a gaming decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) with a world-class support staff, esports operations and content creation, is joining the Yield Guild Games (YGG) network as the guild’s subDAO for the Brazilian community. With YGG’s support, BAYZ will be further empowered to fulfill its mission of acquiring and renting out top assets across different play-and-earn games to Brazilian players and keep working as a leading web3 game publisher bringing the future of gaming to the Americas.
Brazil is the largest country in South America, with a population of over 214 million, of which about 11.9 million are unemployed at a rate of 11.1%. However, many have been discovering gaming as a way to fight poverty, and more and more of the country’s young gamers are becoming esports professionals. With the largest gaming market in the South American region and the 12th largest in the world, Brazil has cultivated a booming esports industry, with mobile esports seeing huge growth in recent years and accounting for 88.4 million players in 2021.
BAYZ is positioned to be an avenue of opportunity, especially for groups in the region that are affected by poverty and unemployment, and it is working hard to introduce play-and-earn to Brazilian gamers and non-gamers alike as a means to improve their current living conditions while they recover from the pandemic.
What BAYZ Offers
Currently, BAYZ has a wide variety of NFT assets from different blockchain games such as Axie Infinity, Thetan Arena, Big Time, MetaSoccer, Fancybirds, Legends of Venari, Genopets, Influence, Castle Crush, Monkey League and more. The BAYZ website also offers an education and content platform with courses about the fundamentals of crypto, blockchain technology and play-and-earn games, which helps people who are new to the space.
Additionally, the gaming guild’s streamers also offer educational content on NFT games that they play on Twitch. The guild has a TikTok account that it uses to spread awareness about play-and-earn games as well. The BAYZ Discord server currently has 27,134 members with a community of helpful moderators, content creators and scholarship managers.

BAYZ co-founder Matt “MobileMatt” Rutledge is a mobile esports specialist with experience in top organizations. Matt was the director of mobile gaming in Complexity Gaming, an American esports organization that has won over 140 championships in 30 different games. Under João, INTZ became the first esports organization to invest in mobile games such as PUBG Mobile, Clash of Clans, Free Fire and Brawl Stars.
The BAYZ team seeks to expand operations across multiple crypto games, remove potential barriers to entry and introduce more people to NFT games around the world, starting with Brazil. Moreover, BAYZ has a vision of promoting NFT gaming market access, revolutionizing the gaming industry, and leading the gaming community into the future by bringing blockchain-based games to the forefront of the wider gaming ecosystem through original programs, content creators, incentives and more.
“BAYZ’s vision to educate players about blockchain gaming and to develop the play-and-earn ecosystem in their region is aligned with YGG’s mission of onboarding more people into the Metaverse with NFT games,” said Gabby Dizon, co-founder of YGG. “With Matt and João’s expertise in the Brazilian community and mobile gaming esports, we believe that this partnership with BAYZ will allow us to provide more value and create a bigger impact for the community.”
