On March 19th, we hosted our 2nd Townhall of 2024, and we can confidently say it was packed with exciting updates for our community. The event was live-streamed on X, and you can watch the recording here.

Today’s blog looks to recap all the Townhall updates — with the first half focused on the current ZTX Beta and the second half giving a preview of our 2024 milestones. So grab yourself a coffee, press play on your favorite background music, and enjoy!

Part 1 — A Beta Gameplay Refresher

For the first part of the Townhall, Karma, ZTX’s marketing lead, gave the community a refresher on ZTX’s current Beta. This was a great opportunity for new players to get up to speed and for seasoned ones to test their knowledge and learn some new tips.

Get started

It only takes a few minutes to start your journey in ZTX:

  • Visit ZTX.io/play and download the ZTX Beta launcher.
  • Log in or create an account using MetaMask or your email.

Create your avatar

After setting up your account it is time to create your ZTX Avatar. With hundreds of appearances, cosmetics, and wearables to choose from, you can customize even the smallest features — such as the size of your nostrils! Digital fashion is an imperative part of what we’re building at ZTX. The starter collection of wearables offered is a preview of the level of detail we plan to support and the foundations we are building for hundreds of fashion brands to launch collections in ZTX.

💡 Tip: don’t forget to use the photobooth feature to snap a PFP of your Avatar in different poses!

Explore your land and home

Every player gets a starter parcel of land which comes with a home on it. This is where you will be able to collect resources and craft assets. This is your homebase inside of ZTX and it is yours to decorate. You will eventually be able to invite ZTX friends over and socialize here.

We recently launched support for our Genesis Homes NFTs, integrating them into the gameplay as fully immersive buildings. Each Genesis Home belongs to a ZTX District and depending on the traits, features a different interior. For the Townhall, Karma decided to show off her Games & Arts District homes.

Start playing

It’s now time to start gathering resources to craft assets. You can use the assets to decorate your land, home, and avatar, and eventually use them in games and trade on marketplaces.

Every asset has a recipe that determines what resources — minerals and organics — are needed to craft it. You can acquire minerals using the Mineral Extractor and organics by planting and harvesting them. All of these resources require different amounts of time and come in 1 of 3 tiers. Items can then be crafted using the Crafting Forge inside your Home.

Items can have different rarities, depending on how many can be crafted. and can be used to decorate your home, land, or avatar, and can be sold on marketplaces and used in future new features. Karma showed off her skills by crafting a bed but made it clear this was only for the bear market (no sleeping in a Bull!).

💡Tip: you can use $ZTX to skip the time required to gather resources and craft assets. This is particularly useful for very rarer items when there is a race to see who can craft them first!

Gameplay in ZTX is still in its foundational stage. As our roadmap and the opportunities throughout the ZTX ecosystem continue to expand, so will the gameplay. Assets will be usable in different ways and tradable on marketplaces. Our team’s vision is to integrate assets and expand gameplay across various types of experiences. There will be something in ZTX for all players.

Part 2 — Roadmap: Multiplayer City, Challenges and Leaderboards, Portal Games

The focus for the second half of the Townhall was to dive into our roadmap. This included never-before-announced features and for this part, Karma brought up two ZTX team members to share the alpha.

Multiplayer City

Karma was joined by Mike, ZTX’s Art Director, to give the community a sneak peek of the upcoming Multiplayer City where players will explore new activities and socialize.

This will be ZTX’s first open and expansive multiplayer experience. Our vision is to create a place that incorporates the best features of today’s greatest cities but in the digital landscape unbound by physical constraints. The Multiplayer City will grow over time, and its first release will integrate aspects of all 4 Districts; Arts, Fashion, Gaming, and Finance — meaning you will find various District-themed experiences and buildings there.

The preview Mike shared during the Townhall was the team’s internal testing environment built in VR and just the very beginning of what’s to come. As our team continues to explore all of the possibilities for the city, we’d like to invite the community to get involved and share their ideas. Keep an eye out for discussions and events in our Discord!

New Assets

Get ready for a lot of new in-game assets! The Design Team at ZTX has hundreds of items, wearables and characters launching in the coming months.

Consisting of experts in the fields of design, fashion, and architecture, the ZTX Design Team focuses on delivering premium assets for players to craft and enjoy. We start by looking for inspiration in the physical world. We then design it from the ground up and look to find ways to improve its presence in the digital world. During this process, we spare no details and while at times this means quality over quantity, we are positive you will be just as happy with them as we are.

Challenges & Portal Games

For this part of the Townhall, Karma invited ZTX’s senior product manager, Cassidy, to join and share some exciting gameplay updates.

  • Time-bound challenges are coming to ZTX! These are a chance for you to compete and earn points. Players will be ranked on a time-based leaderboard with the top players earning rewards. These challenges are a new and fun way for players to make the most out of ZTX in addition to harvesting and crafting. We will share further details soon!
  • Portal games will transport your ZTX Avatar into a gaming environment to compete with other players for incentives and rewards. Portal games are still in the early stages of development. Our team is focused on creating fun, challenging games that potentially incorporate other aspects of the ZTX ecosystem. Karma shared two game concepts that the team has been exploring — a golfing simulator and a jumping game.

ZTX will evolve to be a platform for creators and third-party game studios to design and launch their own gaming experiences, with some partners already waiting to build on top of ZTX.

Final Words — Alexx, Discord, Community Questions

As the Townhall came to a close, we wanted to share a few more updates with the community.

Alexx, our Chief Futurist and ambassador in ZEPETO, has been working on some initiatives to introduce ZTX to the massive 430M+ ZEPETO Users. She has been hard at work preparing to educate and onboard new NFT-curious audiences, and has become one of the fastest-growing accounts in ZEPETO, surpassing 300,000 followers recently. As ZTX infrastructure matures and we eliminate the barriers of entry for beginners, Alexx will lead new players to join us!

And on that note, we wrap up our March Townhall!

We know there was a lot shared today. We appreciate everyone who joined the Townhall event and the community’s involvement in our roadmap every step of the way.
