2018 began with the cryptocurrency market exploding in value to heights never seen.

After Bitcoin’s all-time-high on December 2017, the launch of the CMOE Bitcoin Futures and several exchange hacks, tens of billions of dollars fled into almost every altcoin in the market.

Digital assets like Ripple and Ethereum reached dizzy prizes per token, which raised flags and concerns about the euphoria phase of the market and the likelihood of a bubble.

The total market cap went parabolic since December 2017 and reached a peak of $835 billion on the 7th of January 2018. In only ten days, the market lost almost 50% of its value.

A month later, on the 7th of February, the market had shrunk by 70%, to a low of $276 billion…
