On an ongoing basis, the Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones’ VentureSource track and update a list of privately-held high-growth technology companies called, “The Billion Dollar Startup Club”. To make this elite list:
Companies must be closely-held technology startups valued at $1 billion or more with at least one venture capital firm as an investor. The companies must have raised financing in the past three years.
In the US, this list currently includes 70+ companies including Palantir, Pinterest, Uber, Slack, Snapchat, Square, Airbnb and Zenefits.
