Each year Wealthfront publishes a list of rapidly growing mid-sized private technology companies. Wealthfront is a leading robo-advisory company that uses sophisticated data analysis to invest over $2 billion of its clients’ assets. In conjunction with their most recent release of this list, Wealthfront’s Andy Rachleff had this to say:
“In our opinion, these companies are the ideal places for young people to start their careers. Our logic: Nothing early in your career is more important than achieving success — and nothing signals success more than working for a successful company.”
That’s a powerful statement and something that really resonates with us at 500 Miles (and why we exist). For a company to be included in this career-launching list, it must have revenues between $20 million and $300 million and be on a trajectory to grow at a rate in excess of 50% over at least the next three years. Seems like a pretty darn good qualifying metric but we’ll let you be the judge. Wealthfront built the list by surveying partners at 11 venture capital firms including Accel Partners, Andreessen Horowitz, Benchmark Capital, DAG Ventures, Greylock Partners, Index Ventures, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Matrix Partners, Redpoint Ventures, Sequoia Capital and the Social + Capital Partnership. This breadth of opinions helps to ensure the list is relatively free of bias.
In the end, Wealthfront came up with a list of 106 career-launching companies. It’s time to dig in and find that perfect employer for you. Here’s how:
