My Coding Journey (Week 7)

Here we are in the penultimate week of my coding journey!

This week I am trying something a bit different. I have produced a short vlog that gives an overview of my progress on the group project for the Code First Girls Coding Kickstarter course.

The group project is an opportunity to work with others to write code in response to a project brief. It is the first time I have written code with other people, and it has been amazing! Difficult to master, but amazing!

I have teamed up with two brilliant women and we have been writing code for a recipe search app. We started with really big ambitions but we had to scale these down to reflect the limited time available to work on the project (approximately 4 hours of “lesson time”).

We still have a lot of work to do before we present our project to the cohort this coming week, but I think we have done a great job so far!

Project Progress

Watch the video below to find out more about my progress on the group project.

Note: The shared screens show code-in-progress (some of which doesn’t work yet), so please forgive the clunky code and errors! By showing ourselves to be vulnerable, we become stronger!

Plans for Week 8

This coming week is all about the group project. I will be working with my teammates to make the code work as planned, and to prepare our presentation to the cohort.

Once the presentation is over, I will be getting back to my Codecademy Python course. I’m looking forward to it!
