COO Kaikai Yang Discusses Energo’s Progress-Driven Spirit at ACEF 2018

MANILA, Philippines, Jun. 11, 2018 — COO of Energo Labs Kaikai Yang was featured as a panelist at Asia Clean Energy Forum (ACEF) 2018: Harnessing Innovation to Power the Future. Jointly held by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), and the Korea Energy Agency (KEA), the five-day conference aimed to gather a diversity of investors, project developers, nonprofits, government officials, entrepreneurs, and academic representatives, facilitating cross-industry network and in-depth dialogue about creating a clean energy future for Asia.

During a session titled “Transformation Technology Solutions for Energy Access,” Yang discussed the ways in which Energo Labs utilizes emerging blockchain technology to improve reliable clean energy access in both urban and rural settings through Decentralized Autonomous Energy (DAE) communities. Fellow panelists included Jiwan Kumar Mallik, Mini Grid Interconnection Expert at Alternative Energy Promotion Center; Jaideep Bansal, Energy Access Leader at GHE, Bishal Thapa, Managing Director at Saral Urja Nepal, and Aahish Chalise, CEO of Saral Urja Nepal.

Aside from Yang, other speakers during the conference included leading representatives and officials from the British Government, USAID, Asian Development Bank, and Korea Energy Agency.

Energo’s participation in ACEF 2018 is part of a larger initiative of activities in the Philippines — besides our successful proof-of-concept campus microgrid project that we are currently expanding at De La Salle University — Dasmarinas, Energo has also recently contributed to industry events in the Philippines such as EnRupt’s Building the Future of Energy with Startups event, as well as REAP’s 1st Innovation Forum and the Blockchain Application and Economics Forum 2018.
