Sniper in Action! Episode #02

Hi guys! Welcome, this is part two of Making Game with Unity. Here we will finish our action scene by applying textures, add streets, trees and asphalts…

A raiding group may consist of combatants specially trained in tactics, such as commandos.

A fence was being raised around government property. This provoked strong reactions from the government; a Sniper takes action.…

Now it is your turn! Two enemies are in the tower tank and want to turn off the water supply of the city of Old Port, Brazil. We must take some energies action!

Now, Let’s Get Moving!

Step #01 —This is where we ended at the last post so yeah very quickly let's get the texture for the floors, walls and add the tank.

First, Create a Terrain object, go to Menu: GameObject > 3D Object > Terrain.

Step #02 — Let’s position the objects in the scene;

In the Inspector, set 3WaterTank object to z=26:

Set the Camera to this position: z=20 and Rotation x=-50; You have got used to this by now:)

And finally select Terrain and set its position to x=-200 and z=-200 axis;

Good! By doing this we make the setup common for everyone:

Step #03— Let’s get the Floor Texture.

Select Assets, Right mouse button and Create > Folder and name it Texture

Import the texture sample from my Google Driver. It’s free:) There is rust and external floor texture.

Click the link; select the Texture directory; Click Download; Unzip it direct in your project folder C:\Users\…\Assets\Texture

Good! Now On Explorer, select Terrain and On Inspector :

Click 1) brush icon; 2) Edit Texture; 3) Add Texture; 4) Drag n’ Drop paralepipedo.png to material slot and 5) Size x=2, y=2 and 6) click Add;

Step #04 —Add and Apply this texture GrassHillAlbeto.psd found on folder Standard Asset > Environment > Terrain > SurfaceTextures; repeat the last procedure to add new texture;

To top view click on 3D-gadget in this order:

And paint the floor with grassHillAlbeto.psd. Set Brush Size =1, Opacity=100 and Target Strength = 1;

Note: the .fbx file is the missing floor for mid-tower…

Do it: select the first tower floor (plane.001), type Ctrl + D (Duplicate) and click w key and drag the copy beneath the mid-tower. You’re

Step #05 — pz4-II — The Tank — click: 1)Asset Store and 2) click button Toggle Download Manager; 3) Filter by pz; 4) choose Pz.Kpfw (H) 1.0; 5) click Download and then Import (you must have imported it prior in your Asset Account) and 6) click Import.

Step #06 —Position the pz4-II ; Drag and drop it to the scene and by selecting it and follow this Tank configurations:

Position: x=10; y=0; z=45

Rotation: x=0; y=20; z=0

Scale: x=3.5; y=3.5; z=3.5

Step #07 — And change Camera position too; Select it and set:

Position: x=30; y=7; z=50

Rotation: x=3; y=-110 z=-2.5

Scale: x=3.5; y=3.5; z=3.5

Step #08 — Get 3 trees, access Environment > Speed Tree > Broadleaf > Broadleaf; Check its position below:

Step #09 — Import NY Block — 1) Asset Store and 2) click button Toggle Download Manager; 3) Filter by ny; 4) choose NYC_Block ; 5) click Import and then Download (you must have imported it prior in your Asset Account) and 6) click Import.

Step #10 — The last assets are Builds and Streets;

The NY-Build download takes half an hour; for the streets, simply duplicate the plane 2 and rotate it 90 degrees.

Add stores resources too…

For the Asphalt texture, the Tip is: 1) Select All Materials, 2) type asphalt, hit enter; 3) now drag n’ drop the texture to the planes; look:

That is my final result for this post:)

That all for now!

In the next post, we will use Post Processing Stack behavior for the camera and the scene will be ACE Academy Color Encoding System compliant. Yep! that’s exactly what you read: Hollywood!
