Creativity can be an enigma

Creativity often transcends simple knowing, practice, and skills. It can take you in a sudden change of direction with a result that is perfect yet out-of-the-blue, seeming to have just been “put there” by an unknown mind.

What is this spark inside?
This thinker and contemplator?
This doer and imaginator?
This persona we call ourself, me, I, and artist?
What is it that motivates and marvels?
Inspires and is inspired?
Loves and is loved?
Appreciates creation and creates?
Who and What is this Creator in the artist?
How does it all work?

Perfect creative moments or time-periods happen in the Flow-State. This is when you are fully engaged in the Now, enthused by what you are doing, and your ego is absent.

You have an Integrated Energy System

To achieve the Flow-State — realize you are an Integrated Being. You are NOT just:
• an animal body
• an emotional being
• a mental construct
• a spiritual wishful-thinking

You are a synthesis.
The 4 energy aspects of you are not separate — all of them are integrated and affect the others.

How to Nurture your Integrated Energy System

When one energy system is low it tends to pull down the others. Conversely, allowing yourself to be aware of what energy systems are high for you enables you to “pull-up” any energy system that is less than you would like it to be. It’s about mindfulness, awareness and being able to positively focus in the present moment.

Your own being is the best guide into how and what to do to improve all aspects of your personal energy. The previous 4 articles in this series offer ideas on how to bring all your energies into harmony and balance, yet they are only suggestions for you to consider or to use as stepping-off points on your own path.

Ask your inner being what you need to do to achieve the Flow-State and to be more creative.

Practice nurturing your Integrated Energy System

I practice energy healing every day and created a simple course to teach one of these practices. Watch a free video and learn more HERE.

A color meditation for your Integrated Energy System

A wonderful meditation to bring all your energies into balance and harmony is the complete chakra color meditation. This is the same as all the previous color meditations except that this time you will start with the red and work your way up and out and into your energy field to complete the energy circuit.

Use your previous experiences along with the chakra scale of colors on the left.

1) Use your imagination to “see” the color red in your sacral chakra as a large, bright, ball of pure beautiful color. Take as long as needed until the visualization feels complete.
2) Use your imagination to “see” the color orange in your belly chakra, just below the navel, as a large, bright, ball of pure beautiful color. Take as long as needed until the visualization feels complete.
3) Use your imagination to “see” the color yellow in your solar plexus chakra as a large, bright, ball of pure beautiful color. Take as long as needed until the visualization feels complete.
4) Use your imagination to “see” the color green in your heart chakra as a large, bright, ball of pure beautiful color. Take as long as needed until the visualization feels complete.
5) Use your imagination to “see” the color light blue in your throat chakra as a large, bright, ball of pure beautiful color. Take as long as needed until the visualization feels complete.
6) Use your imagination to “see” the color indigo in your third-eye chakra as a large, bright, ball of pure beautiful color. Take as long as needed until the visualization feels complete.
7) Use your imagination to “see” the color purple in your crown chakra as a large, bright, ball of pure beautiful color. Take as long as needed until the visualization feels complete.
8) Use your imagination to “see” the energy rays flowing up and out of your crown chakra, flowing out and around and down outside your body, and flowing down and up into your feet, and up to your sacral chakra to start the circulation of energy again.
9) Take as long as needed until the visualization of the flow of energy around and through your body, in a continuous cycle, feels complete.

Nurture Yourself and now Nurture Your Art

The previous 4 articles focused on helping you be more aware of the different facets of your energy systems. You probably noticed that they overlapped somewhat since we really are an integrated being. The overlap is, therefore, unavoidable.

So, now that you are more aware of your own energy it’s time to move on to understanding the powerful energies of the things you create. No doubt there will be some overlap in exploring these different facets, as well.

The next group of articles will focus on those things you create:
• physical aspects of things
• emotional aspects of things
• mental aspects of things
• spiritual aspects of things
• integrated aspects of things

Wishing you peace and joy as you nurture yourself

P.S.
This is Part 6 of my series on Energy Creates Art which Creates Energy

Artists use all four energy systems to create their art, whether they realize it or not. But when they ARE aware of these energy systems they are better able to control or direct their energies in ways that help them create.

In addition, artists who are aware of the four energy systems their art projects are better able to make decisions in the content of their art.

I’m writing about all these energy systems and what creatives can do to develop mindfulness and positive action for their own energy and art.

Part 1: Dead People Don’t Create, Introduction to the concept
Part 2: You Are A Creative Animal, The Artist as a Physical Energy System
Part 3: Creativity Starts In The Heart, The Artist as a Spiritual Energy System
Part 4: You Have A Creative Brain, The Artist as a Mental Energy System
Part 5: Creativity is a Divine Spark, The Artist as an Integrated Energy System
