To meet the different needs of each person and society as a whole, a wide variety of buildings and structures are being erected.

Today we want to introduce you the stunning architecture, which this year will fall in love with millions. With projects that have no equal anywhere in the world and with a history that makes these buildings so expected. So here they are:

  1. Airport DQA /Zaha Hadid Architects

The airport project is the latest project of Zaha Hadid. Chinese airport Daxing appreciates the culture of the country not only from an architectural point of view. The interiors of the five “sleeves” are different: silk-screen printing, tea, porcelain, agriculture and images of the Chinese garden formed the basis of five design concepts. The sixth station is a transport hub of 80,000 square meters, including high-speed trains and metro stations, as well as a hotel and offices.

Architects also did not forget about environmental technology. Daxing China Airport is solar-powered and has a waste heat recovery system. It also provides a 2.8 million cubic meter rainwater collection and natural cleansing system. This system includes ponds, canals and irrigation fields.

2. The Vessel Viewpoint / Thomas Heatherwick Studio

Working on the Vessel project, Heatherwick Studio architects used the ideas of engravings by the Dutch graphic artist Maurits Cornelis Escher and public spaces like the Spanish Steps in Rome. The result is one of the most complex and large-scale architectural structures made of steel.

The building, similar to a giant honeycomb, consists of 154 staircases and 80 platforms, where restaurants, shopping areas and entertainment areas are located. In total, there are almost 2500 zigzag-connected steps. An elevator is also provided in the building, as it is 150 feet (46 meters) high.

The width of the upper part of the Vessel is also 150 feet, but its base is much lower, since, according to Wood, the studio did not want to take a lot of land from the city.

3. Railway in Morocco / Silvio d’Ascia Architecture, Omar Kobbité Architectes

The new Kenitra Station designed by Silvio d’Ascia Architecture in partnership with Omar Kobbité Architects has been described as a treasure chest. The project is part of the first high-speed railway line in Morocco, and indeed in Africa, linking the Mediterranean with the Atlantic via Morocco’s most important cities.

As well as serving as an intermodal hub, the station is designed to be an important public space in the life of the city.

The big urban mashrabiya on the station’s façade is made up of 800 ultra-high performing triangular fibre-reinforced concrete blocks, taking the form of eight imposing arches of different shapes on the northern side of the big square. The triangular motif of the mashrabiya is inspired by the geometric shapes typical of Islamic architecture, a porous skin that filters daylight and air, mitigating indoor temperatures as compared to the outdoors and establishing the perfect balance of light, shade and transparency.

The OROCON program helps at any construction site and even in the office. OROCON is an online program for builders, which fits all the necessary functionality for the staff: changing the drawings that will be visible to all users, generating documentation, saving time (you need to look for paper documents) and its accounting. 4. Google Office Hangar Spruce Goose

American studio ZGF Architects has transformed the interior of the 1940s hangar in Los Angeles into a Google office with open workplaces.

The hangar consists of two compartments 230 meters long. It housed about 28,000 m2 of office space. Architects created the “building inside the building” by constructing a multi-level space with stairs and partitions. Floors connect curved stairs.

Each level is fenced with glass or grating — as conceived by architects, this creates an atmosphere of openness in the office. The 450,000-square-foot building houses offices, conference rooms, a café, a fitness center, and event facilities for 250 people.

By the way, in the 1990s, the hangar served as a platform for the filming of several films, including Independence Day and Transformers.

5. Jewel Changi Airport

The long-awaited Jewel Changi Airport terminal with the world’s largest artificial waterfall opened in Singapore. The terminal project looks like a huge glass donut with an area of 135,700 square meters, which is completely framed by steel. This is a multifunctional complex designed to connect three of the four terminals of Changi Airport.

The building consists of 10 floors — five underground and five above ground. The main feature of the airport is the 40-meter waterfall from HSBC, which passes through a huge oculus in the center of the building, being the highest indoor waterfall in the world. The power of the water flow is so strong that passengers, still not seeing it from afar, already hear noise, leaving the Duty Free zone.

Another terminal know-how is the Skytrain train, which runs between the three terminals. Its paths pass through a bridge constructed across the entire Jewel Changi gallery at the height of the third floor. In this way, trains emerge from the cliff, pass through a waterfall in the air and disappear into another cliff.

5. Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine Weihai / GLA

The new architecture of the Chinese style is not a laying of traditional elements, but a combination of modern and traditional elements based on complementarity.

The main body of the structure is an inverted “Y” shape, using a combination of traditional roofs with flash gables, double tops of the slope and several roofs with inscriptions and hips. The roof material is aluminum-magnesium-manganese board. The facade design emphasizes the interweaving of vertical dividing lines, white walls, a vertical landing window and a vertical wooden metal grill.
