Hi DFK Fam -

Here is whale watch and key analytics report number 13. Snapshot was taken around 9:00AM MST on 11/28/21.

Most of you are here because you’ve been following these prior reports or are already part of the community and are seeing this in the discord, reddit or my twitter. For those who are brand new to DeFi Kingdoms or know nothing about this gamefi platform, please see the bottom of this summary for some helpful links (including my new unofficial beginner’s guide) to get you started on your journey (and welcome to the family).

Shout outs:

  • Shout out to Magg and his https://kingdom.watch/ website, which has some really cool querying tools that allows me to present some of this LP and locked/unclaimed Jewel data for some of the biggest xJewel holders.
  • Special thanks to MrZipper as well for his help in pulling hero data for me.

WHAT IS THIS? This report focuses on key metrics related to the game aspect of DeFi Kingdoms based on the largest wallets (by xJewel), as wallets participating in the LP pools may not always be closely associated with the adoption of the game itself and are a bit outside the scope of this report. However, I do provide some data of the LP holdings of the top xJewel wallets.

Time since last report: ~14 Days

I’m transitioning this report to be bi-weekly rather than weekly. I’m now into a 2 week cadence on this report, so the % changes won’t seem as weird as they did in the prior report where numbers were compared against a 7 day period rather than a 14 day period. All reports going forward will be on a 14 day period.

xJewel Analytics

The number of xJewel wallets increased by 52.64% over the past two weeks, which is ~26.3% per week, compared to ~15% weekly increases on my last report. This is in line with the percentage increases of last month, and is great because a 26% weekly at these larger numbers means even faster xjewel wallet growth than in October when the percentage was ~25% weekly because we are now talking about 26% of a larger base.

Top 50 holdings increased just slightly, going up 1.67% over two weeks (which is a nominal increase over just two weeks), yet T50 holdings as a percentage of all xJewel went down nearly 11%. This means more and more people are joining outside of the top 50, in quite significant amounts I might add. Top 50 wallets now only control ~31% of the total xJewel compared to the ~36% last week and the ~50% they’ve held pretty constant to over the past couple months. This is great to see the economic/voting power start to decentralize more and more.

Bank Ratio Analytics

Annualized Bank Ratio based on the increase to the bank ratio for the past two weeks on an annualized basis was 37.95%, compared to the 65.98% annualized basis from the prior report from two weeks ago. You may recall in the last report that this interim annualized rate went from ~41% to 65.98% (in my opinion due to the increased summoning and tavern activity from the wishing well activity spike). Anyone playing the game the past couple weeks definitely would have noticed a bit of stagnation in tear/summoning activity as people await for real quests to release (which sounds like Beta will be opening up this week!).

If we see a big spike in hero summoning again now that we are getting more and more details about profession genes, and what is going to be the meta, I wouldn’t be surprised to see this shoot up on the next report again.

Jewel Analytics

Jewel in circulation continues to go about about 3–4% per week (last report it increased 3.94%). Top 50 holdings as a % of all Jewel remains relatively constant.

Adoption Analytics

These are some of my favorite numbers to look at each week.

Median wallet decreased by 26.03% for this two week period, after increasing in the last report y 1.53% (but had been decreasing by 21.65%, 33% and 33% for each of the three weeks prior to that). Let me put this into a bit clearer context. Almost exactly 2 months ago, on my September 29, 2021 report, the median xJewel wallet size was 72.29 xJewel, and now sits at 13.16 xJewel. I’ve said in multiple times, but this is great news, as more and more people find it economically feasible to stake in the bank, even in smaller amounts, then we are on a good trend towards mass adoption.

With over 5,000 new wallets since the last report, this means we had more wallets under the median jumping into the bank fray with us.

Dappradar metrics are great still — with unique wallets interfacing with DFK up 37.18% compared to 15.02% on the last report’s number (from two weeks ago).

Even with a bit of stagnation due to the wishing well being the only quest, 7 day trailing transaction count is still up 8% compared to last report. I suspect this to continue to go up with the release of real profession quests.

Top Wallet Movement

Special thanks to MrZipper in Discord for the hero counts.

Just a couple of quick highlights on this list:

  • 13 T50 xJewelers without any heroes (the top wallet has an alt wallet with many heroes however, so let’s call it 12 xJewelers without any heroes). Several of those might also have alt wallets where their heroes are held.
  • 17 new players to the top 50. I think its good to see movement in and out of this, showing that the t50 aren’t just entrenched.

LP Holdings by Top 15 Wallets (AND LOCKED BALANCES!)

Thanks to discord user Magg (Magg authors the Kingdom.watch website , where you can see certain known Dev team wallets and their transactions), we can pull together data on the locked balance and unclaimed balances for holders and their Garden rewards.

DeFi Kingdoms Lost Annals of Gaia

I recently posted a new piece about some very helpful game mechanic tidbits in the discord. If you are interested in the technical mechanics of summoning, leveling, questing, etc. you NEED to read this article. Until this knowledge can make its way into the official DFK docs, I’ve started “volumes” which can be found here:
