Put your Bank Account in a L.L.C. (ie, make a business bank account)

(Note-I am still writing this, it is incomplete, but it will still help you)

→My Challenge with this article

The most private type of LLC, is an anonymous LLC, however it can be harder to open up a bank with this kind.

I want to see how I can help you use a regular LLC, in a manner that is more private and anonymous, as a regular LLC is easier to open a bank with.

  • I wasn’t going to publish this article, do to it being incomplete, however, I realized this article would have helped me save time when researching (nor, did I know a bank account could be attached to an llc existed in the first place)

The Searching Challenges

— most of the the articles that come up with google, will point me to a anonymous LLC, when I ask how to make a regular LLC more private.

— Perplexity ai meanwhile, has had great sounding ideas..but crappy or no sources for each one

→All that said,

their are still a few ways to add layers, to a regular L.L.C., which I’ll discuss below (albeit its currently imperfect..please talk to an expert like a lawyer if your saftey is on the line)

It’s a Mindset, a New Way of Life 🔒

An LLC is a limited liability company.

From a debt and legal stand point,

it helps protect you or “its members” from being “personally liable for the company’s debts.”

  • From a Privacy and Saftey standpoint, depending on how it is set up and what kind is used, it can help hide or add layers to the owner(s) and where they live.
  • The owners of LLCs can be looked up through a variety of public means.
  • Our goal in this article, is to make finding you more difficult for an abuser or stalker to do.

Opening an L.L.C. is a step I’d recommend after things have settled, when you are safer and have more wherewithal to do the research.

Why Wait?

📝💵 Just keep in mind, it requires plenty of research and paperwork, and some money (LegalZoom)

⌛— so, it’s not the best option if you need to make a quick run.

Time and precautions:

LLC Mistakes and Set up

Under the Following 2 Warnings and 2 other Ways to Hide your Bank Account-

I provide the steps Perplexity AI gave me,
to help increase the privacy of a regular LLC.

-you can also hide your house in one,
however, I do not cover that in this article.

📝Note:

  • Also, there are many types of L.L.C.’s out there,
  • and ways to design and structure them
  • Each state has its own laws, rules and regulations,
  • and the amount of paperwork that can vary
  • Different banks may have different rules too in what they allow

Another Potential Layer

  • Some suggest placing an LLC into a Trust, to add to the layers (however, I am unsure if you can still set up a bank account this way)

💡What About a Sole Proprietorship Business Bank Account?
-Yes, it is easier and quicker.

Here’s the downsides:
The thing tho keep in mind, is it will be directly associated with your name and social security number, while an L.L.C. is a separate entity.

💡However, I asked Microsoft copilot how I could make a Sole Proprietorship Business Bank Account safer, given our situation.

-take a look at this article here:

Other Options to Hide Your Bank Account from Your Abuser-Stalker

🔒 A) ADCON (for those in the greatest danger)
Contacting your bank to enter ADCON (address confidentiality) is another way to hide your bank and address.

B) DATA Opt Out for Banks
Not as private as ADCON, but still (at least somewhat effective-better),
is to call your bank about its privacy and data policy, and see what they are able to remove on your account (which can take a 2–3 months).

However, this step does help reduce the data about you that gets released, and both these steps are Much Less Time Consuming than creating an L.L.C.

→scroll down to number 4 in the linked article, for more banks data opt out information:

— here’s an example:
JP Morgan Chase: Opt out online for J.P. Morgan and/or Chase products: https://chaseonline.chase.com/public/privacy/privacyfilter.aspx. To opt out by phone: 1–888–868–8618.”

Again, a lawyer (maybe a pro bono org) will be best and qualified to help you with this.
— I can only provide information and ideas.

🛑Warning 1:

You will need to do your own research and for absolute certainty,
have a Lawyer check everything for you when creating an LLC.

→I know very little about this,
I have never done this.

So, I can not verify this is all correct
(however, perplexity does provide sources, which I will include, which will help you out, however, sometimes it is from reddit.)

I turned to Perplexity AI (unpaid), and asked it how to create an LLC in the most private way possible.

If you are escaping, it will take money, time, research and a process (along with steps to make sure your abuser isn’t notified by mail or email), of this occurring

🛑Warning 2: Making Sure Your Abuser Doesn’t Find Out

→Again, I have not done this, so, this is what I thought of off the top of my head.

→Your situation may require more steps and precautions.

⚠️You can NOT have any of the SAME physical mail or electronic email used for this escape bank account

🛑→DOCUMENTS/PAPER CAN Not go to any physical address or email your abuser could have access to

🔎(due to password knowledge, stalkerware-keylogger info they have on your phone, or because the mailman or PO box will deliver it)

💡Create an email account at a public library/work/apple store, that won’t alert your abuser.

Have it be a new and unique enough password and have it be a more vague name, if possible.

A couple more Privacy ideas

💡🔒Also, make sure the name of the L.L.C. isn’t your name or something connected to you, the same approach you would use for an email and the email of your business bank account.

💡🔒Use a D.B.A. (doing business as) name when possible,
this allows you to create more distance and another small layer of privacy.

Do NOT list your LLC, ever, under any social media, website or any other place that also connects to your name, or anything linked to your name⚠

Perplexity AI’s Answer:

several steps to make a regular LLC as private as possible:

📝 My Note: for now, look below for websites on the steps, and do some googling of each, I was on a time crunch when writing this!

  1. Use a registered agent service:
Hire a professional registered agent to receive official documents and correspondence on behalf of your LLC.
  2. This keeps your personal address off public records

(Privacy Goal: What I want to see, is if this can help hide or add a layer between your name and the ownership of the llc)

“A registered agent, also referred to as a resident agent or statutory agent, is an appointed individual or entity responsible for receiving legal documents, state notifications, and important correspondence on behalf of your company.”

Privacy and Security Offered (same artixle as above):

“Because registered agents provide their address as the publicly listed address for the businesses they represent, the private addresses of the LLC’s owners remain out of the public eye, maintaining your privacy, especially if you run your business from home or another personal address.”

  • Use a virtual office or mail forwarding service: This provides a business address separate from your personal address for official documents and correspondence

andersonadvisors.com on Mail Forwarding

  • Minimize personal information in filings:
When filing LLC formation documents, provide only the minimum required information. Avoid listing personal names and addresses where possible
  • Create a management structure:
Consider appointing a manager for your LLC instead of listing yourself as a member. This can help keep your name off public records
  • Use a business name unrelated to you:
Choose a company name that doesn’t include your personal name or other identifying information
  • Be cautious with online presence: Avoid linking your personal name or information to your business’s online profiles or websites
  1. Use a separate phone number:
Get a business phone number distinct from your personal number.
  2. Be mindful of bank account setup:
While banks require personal information, choose one that prioritizes customer privacy.

Remember that while these steps can increase privacy, complete anonymity is not possible with a regular LLC. Banks, the IRS, and certain government agencies will still require identifying information. Additionally, in legal proceedings, your identity may need to be disclosed.
