First 100 Followers and My First Week on Medium
The same day I decided to post here, I wrote my first story and got great feedback from Carrie Morrison, Revanth Goud, Clariss and Yasiris Gomez. I want to thank you once again. You gave me motivation to continue🖤.
In the last 7 days I have shared 12 stories with you and now I have 5 more ready. This got me 120 followers.
This Week in Numbers
Tbh, I don’t know what the good numbers are, but I can share this with you.
I got more than 180 reads (+100 from comments under others stories.). And my average read ratio was 51%.
And 660 views if you are interested about this. (comments included)
I think it is okay, but stories with the most effort have 25%, 30% and 35% read ratio. It is not so bad, but this is I want to improve.
Why is it so low? Still not sure. I think the story about Notion discouraged users, who are using it already and that’s fine, because it was not for them. I didn’t write a very interesting story about my portfolio and How To Web was just too long or not interesting enough? But it was distributes, so maybe it was not so bad🤔
Medium is a really mysterious platform for me. I still don’t understand what is showing under tags, what means distributed or etc. But it is fun to discovering this.
Another thing I want to improve is the readership and activity of my readers. I take this as the biggest challenge. I need to find a way to give you a reason to do that.
Or give you more value. None story from last five days didn’t have so many fans like this story with 25% read ration.
I don’t want big numbers after all. But I want write well enough to give you some value. And the read ration with fans tells me how well I’ve done.
Language
But there is something I improved a lot already. I feel more confident in writing in english. I still use a lot of translator to double check my paragraphs. Sometimes I even double-check all of them and that adds up to double typing time, but I see it’s worth it.
I even wrote two “poems”. Here and in here, about my book. For some reason, sometimes I try to be rhythmic in my native language, but I find it difficult in another language.
What Do I Suggest You?
I suggest for all of you just to stay creative.
Be active and be a reader you want to have. I think it has to come back to you one day. 👌
I looked at the profile of everyone who followed me and looked for a story that I would like to read. If I found something. I read it, clapped and followed back. And I did the same for followers of my followers.
What Do I Next For You?
This week I published 2 stories in a one day for 4 days in row. Next week I’m gonna try to publish just 1 for every day. I’m gonna try to invest more time into improving stories and make last 10% of product better.
Some of the things I’m gonna try to publish next week are stories about writing, notion, programming or even a story about how a daily walk has changed my life. (2,587 days)
Medium Partner Program
You might be thinking if I already have MPP set up. The answer is no. The problem is taxpayer information. Tbh, I guess I don’t have it and I guess it’s a bit more complicated here. And maybe I don’t even care so much about that. Not sure.
Maybe it is not even worth it yet? Maybe?
