Everyone here, at Wolox, represent Generation Y. As a result, we can shed some light on one of the things that young employees want from their workplace: unlimited transparency.

I’m sure we can all agree that Millennials are a sensitive and demanding bunch. And for good reason! They are accustomed to having all the answers at the drop of a hat. In 0.36 seconds, there are thousands of results for “what’s the weather like in…” or “that song that goes like…” — thanks’ Google! So isn’t it just absurd to withhold information from them.

And like Google Search, at Wolox we have NO secrets

Woloxers are informed about:

  • Any new employees, how they joined the team, what projects they will be working on, etc.
  • All new projects and what they are about.
  • Our company goals; which were achieved or weren’t, from present, past and future.

What communication channels do we use?

Here are our different means of communicating:

  • Slack: It’s an internal company chat used to communicate daily news.
  • Emails: to share things about the company which requires more attention and comprehension compared to Slack.
  • WDebates: These are weekly meetings for discussing one subject per encounter, every Woloxer are free to attend. The aim is to improve on any issues at Wolox.
  • Biannual gatherings: Twice a year, we organize an event where we try to have every Woloxer present. We use the opportunity to share our accomplishments, new goals, current goals, our growth, our expenses and our reinvestments, etc.

Committed Woloxers

If we are transparent, workers will have trust and understanding of the way we work through certain tough decisions.

Furthermore, if we would go through a difficult time and salaries cannot be raised, it is likely employees will understand. Their dedication and motivation will not falter as they help drive the company forward. It’s not just a company they work for, it’s the whole brand and what a benefit it is, to have proud employees working for Wolox; it all starts at transparency.

From this point forward, if we all set ourselves on being more transparent; inevitably there would be more responsible and correct businessmen, capitalism would be less voracious and markets would tend to self-regulate all thanks to accessible information. And as a result, of the forever evolving world, our actions now will cause new generations to think different, to act different, to be more committed and ethically correct.

At Wolox, we are very committed to our transparency policy. Achieved by keeping our administration and organisation based on honesty, and providing information about what our expenditure is on, informing everyone about the salaries comprised and showing even more clarity on our cost structure.

Only by showing the whole of our dreams will the surrounding people make them their own.
