A few points to remember

  • Your Barter card is a USD card
  • You’ll also need a US phone number. You can get one of those easily online.
  • Your Barter card is a MasterCard card so look out for the MasterCard logo when you enter your card details
  • Barter offers you the ability to name your card anything you want. Amazon requires that you have a First and Last name on your card so ensure you follow this naming convention when naming your Barter Card.

Getting started with your Barter card on Amazon

Go to your preferred Amazon store

Click on your account

Click on “Add a Credit or Debit Card”

Click on “Add a New Payment Method

Enter your Barter card details. (Amazon requires the payment details to match perfectly so be careful about how you enter your details)

The name of the card is not necessary but you can call it anything you want

Go back to Barter and click on your card

Go to the Settings tab and copy the listed Billing Address

Use the Barter Billing Address as your new Billing Address on Amazon

Enter a valid US phone number

Click on “use this address.”

Click on “Done.”

You can now use your Barter card to pay for your purchases on Amazon, including Kindle purchases.

If the card is declined, please confirm that you have:

  1. Entered the correct card details
  2. Entered the correct billing address
  3. Entered a valid US phone number

If all of these have been confirmed and it’s still getting declined, send us a message either on Twitter, on our chat box on the website or directly via email to hello@barter.co
