Here’s everything you need to know to prepare for BEAM staking
Greetings Beamers,
Some time ago, we tweeted this image teasing the impending launch of a “secret” new feature. To Beamers who were able to guess correctly, space hats off to you! Beam Team is exhilarated to reveal that BEAM staking is coming!
The BEAM Staking Campaign
BEAM staking will launch, in conjunction with the BeamX DeFi ecosystem on October 21st, 2021. Stakers will earn rewards in the upcoming BEAMX governance token. 1,000,000 BEAMX tokens will be distributed to Beamers participating in the BEAM Staking Campaign. The BEAM Staking Campaign will last for 3 months (172,800 blocks). There are 25 BEAMX per block; Beamers who join the staking contract early will be able to capture a large share of the block rewards as it will be distributed amongst fewer wallets.
With the upcoming BEAMX CORE DAPP, Beamers can leverage their idle BEAM by staking them. Staked BEAM will become locked in a smart contract and the lock-up duration is user-configurable.
BeamX Governance:
The BeamX DeFi ecosystem will eventually become completely decentralized, fully governed by the DAO. This is in line with Beam’s vision to foster a self-sustaining, transparent, and community-driven BeamX DeFi economy.
Additionally, 20% of BEAMX’s total token supply is reserved in the DAO treasury for DAPP developers (swaps, lending, yield farms, etc.) and ecosystem partners who bring value to the BeamX ecosystem.
The Beam community will be able to propose projects and vote on other Beamers’ proposed products that will create value for the entire BeamX ecosystem. A small portion of BEAMX token supply will also be reserved as a reward for Beamers, who actively participate in DAO governance enabling the growth of BeamX.
