Vision Pro: Initial Steps in Spatial Computing

As I have been writing for days, it has been about 3 months since I started studying and experimenting in a development and testing environment for Apple Vision Pro (my first headset, out of two that I have purchased, will arrive in the next few hours).

There is no doubt that from the development environment, and without yet having had the chance to do extensive experimentation with the physical object — except for a 15-minute test in December — the new device presents a series of new design challenges, compared to other headsets and compared to the iOS world, to consider, and that are not at all obvious.

Let’s start from a point that I consider fundamental:

The strength of Vision Pro is not the hardware (or at least not only and not mainly), but rather the vision and the concept that it brings with it at a system and approach level.

Just as I have written here. With that said, below I report some notes that I have taken during these months while designing from scratch for Apple Vision Pro.

Vision Pro is not a common AR/VR headset
