If you are a student, intern, and/or recent grad, chances are that you have been told (repeatedly) to network, network & network. But you might be thinking: how do I do that? And why might it help me?

Mentorship is one way to make this process easier for you!

This holds a wide array of networking and skill-building opportunities and other benefits. If you want a mentor, to help you in your career development, Skilbi makes it easy for you. Skilbi connects students with qualified mentors based on personal and professional interests.

How does it work?

Skilbi is a hybrid learning community that makes it easy to find alumni and professionals who help students in their desired career paths through mentorships.

Here’s what you need to do. First, create a Skilbi profile indicative of your core skills, interests, and what you’re seeking from a mentorship. Set SMART goals that indicate your mentorship objectives.

If you’re feeling curious, browse through the Project Hub and see what sort of internships and projects appeal to you.

Visit the Mentor Hub and find a mentor that aligns with your personal and professional interests. Lastly, send a coffee chat request, wait for a response and connect with your mentor!

Why Skilbi?

In addition to having qualified mentors in various fields, Skilbi doesn't require students to have specific qualifications or experience to be eligible for our mentorship and internship programs. Skilbi helps overlooked students who may lack the resources or connections to move forward in their careers by delivering mentors that can help with career progression.

Let’s simplify this:

  1. Create your Skilbi profile
  2. Create a relevant SMART goal on your dashboard
  3. Parse through the Project Hub and look at internships and projects that you would like to work on
  4. Visit the Mentor Hub and find someone you can envision as a mentor
  5. Send a ‘Coffee Chat Request’ to your potential mentor
  6. Connect with your mentor
  7. Make the most of your mentorship by following these guidelines
